New Personal Best in the SL600
In case you missed it in the E55 section, I fell short of my goal of a 10 second pass, but still came away with a PB and bettered my WR.
We all know Sousearcher, Outcast, and Ricker's cars are faster, but I can only hope that they never post a timeslip. Kidding fellas, I'll be the first to congratulate each and every one of you.

Sooooo close. Hey at least you get some decent weather there. It sucks here. Anything below 50 degrees (the horror!) they shut the tracks down. Think a splash of MS109 would do the rest?

Wow! Amazing!
BTW, your time for your E500 is pretty damn good too.
What exactly did the transmission software change?

Just think if you woulda removed your pass seat you'd of owned it! NO shame in that countless here do it... go back n toss em both out n' do the milk-Crate mod (you sit on milk crate for seat saving 190 lbs = near. 20 tenths youd run 10.80 sukkka!!!

Re; New PB
11.025 is an awesome time, and a 1.6X 60 foot sais you were not babying it off the line which again speaks to the stoutness of the drivetrain.
Congrats!
I'm considering selling mine next Spring, but before I do maybe I'll bring it to an event, borrow someone's DR's, and let you take mine for a couple of passes to see just how it stacks up in the rankings....

Thanks Sun. Had a blast....
I don't feel comfortable running MS109, unless I have a wideband to look at AFR real time. You never know what that stuff is gonna do. But sure, if tuned for it, BOOM....10's no problem.
Thanks!
Tune only V12TTs are no joke. We are very lucky in that regard, but heat is our enemy.
Can't believe the E500 record still stands. I guess there's just not many people racing that platform. And for good reason...
The Speedriven TCU firms up/quickens shifts at WOT, as well as raises the torque limiter to allow me to run a hotter ECU tune without TCU intervention.
Thanks Sean. Was still running the stock intake. The stuff Bruce sent me still needs some slight modification to make it fit. It was all very last minute, and he just didn't have the time to finish it up for me. I'm still amazed he was able to bring what he did. Very grateful....and it gives me a project.
I'm still running these insanely heavy 18" DRs. I lifted up Ahmads and Dodger's setup, and they're easily 15lb heavier per side. Maybe even more...
Yeah, I could've removed the seat, put in a lighter battery etc..., but I really, REALLY want to make a 10 second pass with the car as close to stock as possible. I could've been in the 10s long ago if I threw money at the problem. That's what most people do, and that's certainly fine. I'm just a bit different. My philosophy is to try to do the most, with the least. Sooooo close....
I was so disappointed, but so happy at the same time.
Yes sir. I drove the car 2.5hrs there, so even with the cold weather, it just couldn't cool off. These V12TTs need to cool down for about 3 hours after each run, to really get the best out of them. After doing my burnout, my IATs were about 150, so yeah...it pulls timing on the back half every single time out.
I was very scared to load up the converter. But I was on a mission this time out, so I decided to go ahead and give it a go. My best 60' was a 1.65, stalling up to about 1600RPM. Anything higher than that and it would just blow the tires off.
You definitely need to come up to one of these. So much fun....
I got your PM. Next step is to try to do something with the intake. Sean is already running what Bruce just handed me, so I'm going to do some Manifold Absolute Pressure logging, to see what, if any gains are there. I would have to think that there's something there....but I'm going to find out definitively.
Thanks. I'm uploading some GoPro stuff now.....
Thanks!

NO kidding about the heat issue. My best run came after letting the car sit for an hour. Agreed on the beast comment, back in 08 after a month of owning the car I ran into an SL600 with RT badges. Keep in mind I wasnt too familiar with the brands at that time and thought it would be a good race. Well, I got my **** handed to me by the SL600 and thought there must be something wrong with my car?
First thing when I got home was to Google SL600 and clicked on MBworld link and got some education. Turned out my car was just fine and the SL600 to my surprise happened to be a TT V12. :-)
"My philosophy is to try to do the most, with the least." Agreed!

Congratulations! Incredibly quick, for those small mods!
So that technique is preferable, compared to just full throttle from 800 rpm and letting go of the brakes at the same time..?
Is it pretty safe to generalize there..?
I made a couple of runs last summer, with 11,64 as the best ET for me, without stalling.
I haven't got the experience myself to know which way to go, that's why...
