Just a brief note to confirm I have sold my Jasper Blue SL55 and replaced it with property in Marbella, Spain (www.marbpent.com).

I had the SL55 for about 9 months - did just under 4000 fantastic miles and got back near as damn it what I paid for it, from Tom Hartleys (UK specialist car dealer).

Anyone looking for place to rent in Spain - love to hear from you - near marina, golf and beach!

Roll on the share price recovery process - should hopefully recover for delivery of my next car!

While out in Spain property hunting seen numerous SL55's (the most popluar motor at the very posey Puerto Banus) - loved the plate on this one!

How did you find dealing with Tom Hartley ?

I actually dealt with Tom H Junior (who I guess is about 19 - he was in the press when he passed his test in a Ferrari on his 17th birthday).

A very shrewd yound man - the deal went fine was my experince (the caveat bit - this is no gurantee for others!!).

We agreed a price over the phone - they had a buyer in mind wanting Jasper - so they collected the car and had it valetted. It looked the best I had ever seen it when I called in to deliver the phone. The deal was if their sale did not come off they returned the car in superb valetted condition.

As it happened the planned sale did not come off but they found another buyer the same day. Transferred me the cash directly into my account as we agreed.

All went well.

That all sounded easy - glad it progressed so well. Jasper is in demand then! It looks so good in bright sunshine - quite dark and with the chrome lights attracts a lot of attention.

Now did the 55 pay for the partment, or did you have to add the value of an SL500 or three to make up the difference?

Just being curious (nosey) about values there - The Economist article on Spanish property prices frightened the life out of my pending decision on a place in Costa Blanca. Gone for a boat instead.

The sl55 was my original budget - Then researched prices and upped it by 50% before I went out there! Then got there and found I needed another SL55 on top of this!!!!

What boat did you buy? May meet you at the marina!

Congratulations on the sale and wow, what a FANTASTIC apartment. Spanish property prices frightened me too but looks like you got a good deal.

Still that's a bargain - property prices in Marbella are a one way bet!

Negotiating to buy a Phantom 46 - but my last attempt ended in a disaster so not holding my breath on this one....

Good luck on this - Not being up on the boat scene I did a quick search - looks a very very nice toy.
