SL55/63/65/R230 AMG: To be or not to be...wide body and SL63 converstion?
Prior Design SL Widebody...they have the Black Edition but it looks too cartoonish for me...plus I like my carbon fiber rear diffuser. I've also been toying with getting the fresher look with the 63 front end. I'd still black out the chrome bits, though and we would have to do something with the front emblem. Working on getting the following in CF...front lip, fender side grilles, rear lip, front bumper vents, and side mirrors...

With these wheels in 21's...305/375's as a possible F/R tire setup. I could use the wheels I have now but I don't want to mess with spacers. Not sure of finish makeup yet...
I'm no longer clicking on your build threads until I see "Ultimate Yaris Bosozoku build thread"

That said, if you decide to part ways with your rear bumper/diffuser setup, ping me first.

"Prior Design is German....that's where the problem is for the guys dealing with Prior in Germany. I deal with the guy in the US....he's the US importer. The Audi R8 we did was a very easy transaction. He mentioned that Germany has problems on their end but that doesn't affect him as he keeps stock here. Seems like the guys in the thread were dealing with the Germans. Not fun."
Chris has never led me down the wrong road so I trust his judgement.
I would have never considered do this without knowing a competent auto body shop...this guy is old school artiste that did the paint on the GTR and all the other bits on my other bits. He is this ornery Austrian dude that specializes in Porsche restoration. The work he did on my GTR carbon fiber hood was magical and getting the front quarter panels to match the Nissan OE red was top notch...I couldn't tell.
Yes...I love the wheels...simple and clean. The wheels on some the Prior site for the SL are a little too busy and "heavy" looking to me...

PS Thanks for being a trailblazer. Your build was epic.

I found one with only front fenders that looks good. They said Wahl, but I couldnt find it on the web site. Probibly trace them again and get the truth.

I could probibly find a restyled hood that I like, but just doing the fenders makes a difference on the 63 body. I like the rear bumper as-is. You could change the front fogs to leds like the blue car. But for me its styled just enough.
When it comes to building cars.... Hell Everything you've built is just amazing, your attention to details is what impresses me most...What started it ALL---Your W211 E55k build done years & years ago, STILL makes ALL these other E55 builds look like they're mods consisted of Grill from Ebay & a set of sneakers

some of the prior kits aren't priced that bad. i'm guessing 6k will get you this installed-painted.

The Prior Wide Body kit is more than 6k though...probably twice or more installed.

ALL said & done, complete QUALITY new paint job, new larger wheels/tires, & literally thousands in OEM factory parts to make it all fit perfectly, install/prep/ the average WELL done Widebody will run between $30k-$40k Depending on options & quality of parts you ultimately end up choosing/buying.. When done right it's worth every penny. MishaDesigns is right there @ the TOP
