SL55 Performance Upgrade Packages Compared
I have searched the forum and was not able to find a competitive listing as far as horsepower vs cost goes for Performance Upgrades. With that in mind, I'm in the market for a stage 1 performance kit but I'm having a hard time choosing the performance package.
To help others as well as myself it would be nice if we could use this thread to centralize this information.
The format for the comments can be as simple as:
- List of performance upgrades
- Dyno Sheet
- Track Times
- Etc
*Please do not post upgrades or suggestions if there is no data to backup the claim of 50,60,...,100+ hp gains. I have discovered that the hp numbers are being thrown out there without significant data to prove that the upgrade significantly increased the performance of the SL55. The idea would be to see the power curves and compare vs. stock.
I hope that distributors can pitch in and help us populate this centralized thread with information necessary to make the right decision the first time around when choosing performance upgrades...

- +4 lbs Boost (0.3 bar)
-Gains: 45+ HP, 55 ft-lbs.
- 550 HP, 613 ft-lbs.

Your splitting hairs. This platform has been around for a decade. Pick one of the top parts guys and a great tuner...your good to go. Not flaming just a heads up. Larger pulley (168/172) headers and good tune is good for 60 to 100 horse gain in some cases.

I think if you spend a bit of time collecting the names of vendors of upgrade packages and then checking their wbsites or looking at old posts you will get a good idea. Search function is your friend here!

Find the best deal on a 180mm kit, tune and coolling mods and you have a solid stage one package under 1500.00. Deals all over the place for stage one aprts and tunes and most all make the same power now at the stage one level.
