Lowering Links

I just lowered my 03 SL55 with lowering links and the ride is really bumpy. Is this common? There was a piece that connects to the links that was slightly bent. I believe the part # is A 002 542 8818. Could this be the reason?? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Lower ride height = less suspension travel = harsher ride.

Nothing new here. Pretty standard, regardless of vehicle.

I lowered the car about 50 mm. Also when I'm driving and I come to a complete stop, I feel and see the front of the car get lower by about .5 inch. Does this happen to anyone else?

This happened to me when I went too low with my car. It seems to raise when driving because it knows how rough the ride is...

I'm planning to raise my car a bit already but does anyone have any other suggestions on improving the ride of my car while still having my lowered on links??

Sounds like you have a lowering module as well. I have a Renntech lowering module, no lowering links, and there's a specific setting which lowers both front and rear when you come to a complete stop and raises again when motion starts. I like this little effect and watching the reaction from people as it slams the vehicle at a traffic stop!

I've fitted lowering links onto mine and it rides absolutely fine? Its not completely sitting in the ground but its definitely lower than before? Try raising them ever so slightly and see if you notice the difference.
