I was paranoid I was going to hit the "top up" button on the freeway and raise the top at 90mph with my smart top installed. Luckily I found out that my smart top will not raise or lower when moving. It only allows the top to raise or lower when initiated at a stop and CONTINUE when moving at low speeds. It doesn't allow it to initiate raising or lowering when moving.

That's huge in my eyes.

I love hitting the button 3 times when I just walk out of the door of a store and have the top finish folding as soon as I reach my car and hit the start button. Females be jocking the kid HARRRRRRRRD when this happens.

Sure you can initiate it while moving. One of the greatest things about it is that it will allow you to raise and lower it while moving. You just have to program it and choose the maximum mph at which it will perform this instruction. I can't remember the max speed, certainly 90 is not available, but mine is set at 30. I use it all the time leaving or pulling into my office or home.

I think the max speed for the Sl is 60km while moving.

This is the main reason I got it. I have mine set to allow open/close up to 25mph.

Post Best upgrade for SL55 thus far

It was super easy to install! Hardest part is finding which one of the plugs is the one for the top on the CAN connector and also getting the CAN connector open so make SURE you watch the video on the website as it shows you how to get the CAN open so you can pull out the plugs. That had me stumped until I watched the video.

As for the mod itself... it is fan-freakin-tastic! left my house and put the top down with one button while driving down the road under 30MPH... then on the way home I tried to put top up when going over 30MPH and it just beeped once at me to let me know I was going to fast... dropped down under 30 and hit the button once and up it went.

Plus the module gives you other options like chirp from siren when locking and unlocking (or horn if you car does not have alarm or you just want horn even if you have alarm) and you can make changes to the settings all thru the steering wheel. Only thing that does not work for SL models is the FOG lights for daytime running lights.

Of course I had to try out the remote top from FOB a few times and it works great. Will be nice to come out of the theatre and put the top down while walking to the car.

Best $285 spent on car thus far.
