I love this car...I hope in the months and years ahead that I am able to keep enjoying it and gradually upgrading it.....I've had many Mercedes in my life so far but never had an AMG....I'm hooked for life now.... :-)
Pics below...I'll post more pics at a later date if and when I put upgrades on the car....for now I'm happy with it! If there are any awesome and trusted AMG mechanics and also aftermarket tuners in the Atlanta, Georgia area (preferably Northern Atlanta suburbs) please let me know...as well as Cars & Coffee meet-ups in the area, etc....

BR,
I've never had an SL 65, I've always just had my name on the forums here be SL65 just because it is my favorite mercedes, so like a tribute to that car since it's my favorite.....for the time being this SL 55 is great...I love it...
And to Das Geld,
Lol no they are not CLK rims...they are standard 18" SL 55 rims...I've seen other SL 55's (especially 2005 models like mine) with these also around...
And to kustom2k1,
Thanks man! And yeah I know lol...I took the car to get washed and cleaned up a little at my local car wash and the guy went crazy with the leather conditioner solution.... I'm gonna have to wipe the interior down with a clean terry cloth or something to take all the excess off.....

Yeah I know I got a flat tire a few days ago....went to my local tire shop and they had a temporary tire, it was a Continental Exreme Contact DWS....they put it on just so I could drive for a couple days until a tire came in (they had nothing in my size in stock and they were closing down for the day)....so now my left rear tire is a brand new (as of today) Michelin Pilot Super Sport and the other 3 tires are the ones the car came with (P-Zero Rosso's) and they still have a good amount of tread on them.... I might end up in a couple months having to just either have 3 new Super Sports put on while the left rear is already a couple months old, or just bite the bullet and buy all 4 brand new again so that all 4 are brand new at the same time..... I got a good deal on the Pilot Super Sports though.... $320... not bad for a top of the line Michelin high performance tire in a 285 rear width size....I haven't found a better deal yet anywhere else as of yet....
Also, I noticed that the new Pilot Super Sports seem to have a thicker side wall on them than the Rosso's do....the guys putting my tire on confirmed that indeed other people who have gotten it put on have reported better ride comfort, quieter ride, and even better handling in all conditions than any of the other comparable Pirelli's, Yoko's, Dunlop's, or Continentals.... we'll see I guess....I won't be able to confirm this for myself until all 4 are on later...
And thanks rsr, richter, and whtclk for the compliments I sincerely appreciate it

Thanks Brandon I appreciate it man! The mod bug has already bitten...I've already looked around the internet for a few little things I'd love to do to the car over the next year.....and other more serious mods I'd like to do over the long term.....

Some more updated pics...as of October 2012
The carbon fiber updated LED side mirrors that I bought from gaugetuner on Ebay don't fit otherwise I would've had those on by now too.....next thing will be carbon vinyl wrapping the door panels with the illumiinated AMG panel....then the 180 mm pulley goes in and the 172 mm comes out...then the Kleemann headers....and on and on....gonna be a long term project.....beautiful weather today though...sunny and about 65 degrees....

AMG is the only way to go. We have had several Mercedes but once you have an AMG car any other Mercedes is just another car. I just got back from a nice drive in the SL with the top down. Oh how I love Florida Falls and Winters. Conbgrats on you AMG.

Thanks guys... :-)
Thanks guys.... yeah I bought the car in late March 2012 but slowly and steadily I've been upgrading it....thought since its been almost 7 months since I've posted updated pics that I should put a few more up....God knows where I'll be with it in 2 or 3 years..... I'd love to have over 750 horsepower by then with some new wheels, better brakes, better sound system, etc.... great long term project car....damn expensive to maintain but what a sweet treat to drive ![drive](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/driving.gif)
P.S. - I'll post up more driving impressions later after I do the kleemann headers and the 180 mm pulley.....but so far the Eurocharged 172 mm pulley with Ecu and tcu tune and their heat exchanger and johnson CM30 IC pump and the one step colder plugs and EC injectors and phenolic spacers and 82mm TB and quaife LSD (and the akebono pads with SS lines and dot 4 super blue brake fluid for better stopping feel) have made the car fast as hell and so fun to drive already...this latest retune jerry did 2 weeks ago really made it faster....that with the 82mm tb has really breathed new life into it...feels like it added a bunch more horsepower...can't even imagine how its gonna feel like after the headers and 180 pulley with another re tune of the ecu and tcu again.....further on down the road I'd like to do the kleemann camshaft upgrade, EC carbon intake, Shardul wrap kit, evosport brake upgrade, and exhaust upgrade....little by little over time it'll happen I guess.....
