Hmm, haven't seen 22's on an SL before. I think 20s are the perfect size for the r230 body.

You have 22's on an SL?

I gotta see this! Post pictures!

I think most people will tell you that 20" is the max rim size you can fit on an SL.

I had 20's on my old SL55 and I found it a bit too much.

I have 19's on my current car and I think it is perfect. They don't look quite as good as 20's but the ride is so much better.

19's are optimal

I would love to see a pic of the sl on 22's . The tires are prob like rubber bands. I think 20's give the perfect look but be prepared for maintenance especially if you live in a pothole area. Living in NJ/NYC Ive fixed every rim at least once.

Now that its confirmed you have a widebody, the 22's look normal for that car. Anything smaller than 21 or even 20 is just way too small. I say keep the set up.

Nope.
Go with 19 in the front and 20 in the rear. That's the original SL65 BS setup. It looks/feels/drives perfect.

Go Killer Chiller and be done with it. You can leave your stock HE alone and put a 3 way valve in to switch from KC to HE. I leave it on the Killer Chiller. Trust me you'll love it.

I have HRE 19s running a 285 tyre on the back. I think that is just the right size, fills out the wheel well and doesn't sacrifice ride quality for a look that you can't even appreciate while you are driving

Only MBs - the best or nothing
255/40-20 tire will never fit front of any SL - its 28" diameter.

Why do you need Kompressor upgrades IE your car is badged SL65 Black Series...
I know previous owner did it right please scrape it off, even if it had a V12 Biturbo it's still a FAR cry from a real Black Series.. It's obviously an SL55 look @ the smaller NON 2-piece rotors. I bet it's really slow w/those giant 21-22" wheels.
