SL55 AMG
To ABC or to Not ABC?
I live in the city with pot holes, bumps, dips and worst of all, speed humps. I tend to use the ABC to raise and lower my car multimple times daily.

What causes the pump to fail? Use or lack of use?

the abc pump pretty much works constantly so that is a non-issue.

on the other hand what i do know for a fact is that the valve blocks go bad if you dont exercise them (raise/lower car and/or rodeo) regularly.

+1 The tandem pump runs constantly. It is used for the power steering as well. Like any pump, it is going to fail eventually.

Only cars sold in Texas have a rodeo button. Everybody else has to take their car to someone with a Star Diagnostics computer (dealer and a some independents) to enable rodeo. It's a good idea to have the fluid flushed and filter changed at the same time.

Good as I live in London, mine gets exercised everytime I'm in it!

And lol re rodeo yeehaa, wouldn't that be cool at traffic lights though? :-p
