I have the MBH headers and a custom x-pipe setup. I still have an unresolved issue with a header hitting the steering shaft, but other than that I'm happy with the setup and it sounds 10 times better than stock. It still won't have that Ford v8 rumble, especially at idle, but it sounds pretty mean at WOT.

The 5.4 SuperCharged engine is often associated with WWII airplanes more than Mustangs due to the DOHC layout of the engine.
We have SuperSprint's full exhaust system available for the SL55AMG. It is available in catted or catless configuration with resonated or non resonated mid pipes. The system is oversized at 2x70mm pipes for optimal performance gains versus the 2x60mm OEM pipes.
While the stock headers use extremely short, restrictive runners, made out of stamped metal halves, the Supersprint headers feature long, 42mm o.d. tubular, individual primaries, mated together smoothly, thanks to the special, 4-1 Supersprint merge collector patented design.
The Supersprint developement crew managed to squeeze these huge headers in the limited space available in the engine bay, and shaped them so well, that they can be easily fitted without the need for lifting the engine, or un-bolting the transmission or other parts.
Let us know what your goals were with an exhaust system (performance, sound, new tips, etc) and we can look into the various options for you!

Umm, aren't our motors SOHC? At least when I swapped out my cams there was one per head=SOHC. How much louder is the SuperSprint muffler portion vs. stock sl55 setup? I keep wavering on this purchase as it's spendy for some mufflers but really want a better sound.

Typo
For the best sound, you should fit the cat-back with unresonated connecting pipes and rear mufflers.

Just busting your ***** a bit. Can you send a price on the unresonated connecting pipes and rear mufflers?
Hey peops... My bad for being absent...
Just to clarify "THIS" is the sound I'm looking for:
When I lived in Germany back in the late '90s, it was customary for the Germans with money to "tune" and upgrade the appearance of their cars. To this day, I've never heard a "US" MB sound like a "European" tuned MB (and that's the sound I'm after). :-)

Here's another good exhaust package I came across as well:

And another:
If you'll notice, all of these cars are the Euroversion. I'm actually calling a guy who used to work on my cars tomorrow to see if he can give me some ideas of what these cars are running.
On another note, what's the largest size tire you can run on an SL55 AMG? I've got 305 25/20's (20" rim) on the back but it's not filling up the wheel well like some of the cars in the vids. Any suggestions?

If you freeze the vid at 0:25 and 0:40 - 0:48, you can see this dude has some "serious meat" on his rims:
Anyone care to guess what the tires and rims are?

I've seen my next German super car (Weismann GT MF5):
Only $750K dollars :-)
Yeah, right... I'll keep driving my bucket SL55 for that price... *heh*
