SL55/63/65/R230 AMG: Top Down, Windows go up?

Top Down, Windows go up?
When I retract my 05 SL55 roof, my front windows go up instead of down from whatever position they are in and stay that way upon the completion of the top retraction process.
I can then open the windows using the door switches.
Normal?

mine does the same so i assume it is normal.
also, i was surprised to find out a few weeks ago that secondary press down of the windows buttons rolls down/ up the little triangular windows when the roof is up. i had no idea- and i've owned the 65 a few years already...

What we need is a way for the roof computers to comunicate with the sensor that drives the auto wipers and put the top up if it is down and starting to rain. That would be slick.

HAHA, no I was thinking when the car is sitting in the parking lot and the owner is inside shopping unaware of the pop up shower. The "E" class has a subroutine or non default program that will close the sun roof if the rain sensor for the wipers senses rain while the car is unoccupied.

Thanks for the idea. I was kind of bored, now I will play with that computer...

^cool! My wife was telling me the other day about an SL sitting in the parking lot of her office building with the top down and it started to downpour. They tried to find the owner, but could not. I remembered benzo from the forum mentioning the sunroof close function on the E and how cool it would be for an SL. I would think a routine could be set up to close the top if it is raining, but not if the car is moving.

I was just kidding...I'm a member of a few Porsche forums, and most of us NEVER even think about taking our P cars out in the rain. I never take my SL's out in the rain either. My 55 was in the rain ONCE...and that was a 2 hour drive during a hurricane! Spent about 50 hours after that cleaning the undercarriage and stuff.
Back on topic, I think that the system you guys are describing (top goes up when it starts to rain) is brilliant....I never knew that it had even been invented yet. I guess I'm behind on the times.
