All is conected now as I understood the German description. But NOTHING works at all??? Totaly dead and just warns about broken lamps. I will try some programming but should not be needed since it is used ECU ballasts.

i pulled pins out of old connectors, and installed in new connectors. i thought my high beams were not working but found out the ignition needs to be on for them to work.
still, there is other wires in the harness that i have no idea where they should go, but as far as just the lighting part, it works.

Ok, I got most of it working. Ballasts are out of a bunch of cars including vw's. I picked the ballasts up for 90 bucks each. I bought the black series headlights for 1500.00 for the set shipped. The plastic plugs I got from the dealer and just pulled wires out and plugged them into the new plug. A few of these use smaller pins which I got as samples from tyco and soldered those where needed. So far everything seems to be functioning the way I've got them wired except for when you hit the high beams that flap doesn't engage. The second two prong plug I don't know what that does so its not wired yet. Anyone know how to get that high beam flap to engage and what that two prong plug does. Its taken a few hrs just to figure this all out and get them in working condition so if anyone can get me through the rest of this I would appreciate it.

i would assume the flap to be internally wired with the high beam signal. i do not remember there being a separsate wire for just that. is the car running when you try to high beams?

2011 E350 Cabriolet
Very interesting thread as I am trying to retrofit a new set of Merc Bi-Xenon lights into a 2011 E350 (A207) which currently has Halogen lights. Contacted the wiring harness guys (thanks for the link) and I hope they have something for a W207 or A207. The MB dealers are very negative about doing this retro... pretty much hands off! I'm just trying to upgrade my car as if I had ordered the P2 package when new.

I got it all figured out. I had one of the ground wires in the wrong area. Everything works fine. Once I got the correct wiring figured out its really simple. Pull the old wires from the plug and plug them into the new plug which are about 11 bucks each. The parking wire has the smaller pin than the other so that has to be cut and soldered. Once you know how it's wired its about 10 minutes per side and less than $30 bucks for the plugs and 2 new pins. Pretty simple to do!

You are right, MB did not want to sell me the parts once I told them what I was doing. The wouldn't order anything without a VIN number so I got a 2012 cars vin number and called them back. Fortunately the guy I normally deal with answered and was totally cool. It really depends on who you talk to. I've notice some of these guys have a stick up their *** as if Mercedes are so elite that they shouldn't be touched by anyone other than a dealer and definately not modified. Where I live every other car is a Benz so I don't see the big deal. Our dealership down here has their parts department off the side of the building and unmarked way away from the showroom and not connected in any way so that you can enter it from inside the dealership . You have to either walk way around the building or jump in your car and drive all the way to the back and find the unmarked doors. The salesman even told me they do that because they don't want the public buying parts.

Sorry if I've hijacked your thread. Are any of the optional features like cornering lights or auto-leveling dependent on just connecting up to the correct wire in the harness or do they have to be "authorized' by the Comand software? It looks like the Control Module part#: 212 900 78 04 in my case is the Bi-Xenon ballast *and* controller which plugs into the bottom of the Bi-Xenon headlamp. My hope is that a plug and play harness will go from the old Halogen connections to the harness and then to the upgraded bi-xenon fixture.

I am finishing of an SL55AMG 2007 model, and have come to the part of the lights.
I have got the facelift lights, but they came without ballast.
I need to get hold of ballast, and connectors.
If I buy a kit like in one of the posts, or make my own I will see.

Does anyone have the part number for the Ballast? Are the part number the same on different models?
I read that the c-class ballast would fit, is this any c-class?

newer c class. look at pics of them on ebay. look up ones for the headlights you have, then compare them to the c class ones you find. there is only 2 styles i know of. very easy to compare. many years of c class work. try 2010.
