SL55/63/65/R230 AMG: Help on headlight conversion/facelift please....anyone?
90% of the way through a widebody conversion to my '03 SL55. Its getting numerous upgrades, but one of them isn't looking so straightforward. Does anyone have schematics for the wiring to accomplish the headlight conversion? Any help is greatly appreciated!
thanks

Give the man your email so he can send to ya!! Don't think they can read that too can they
I stumbled onto this when googling solutions:

These guys got me this in 2-3 days (real quick) from Germany for less than $200.
I haven't tried to install yet because I'm still waiting on my ballasts to arrive.
It's not an adapter but looks promising and the look/feel of the harness these guys sent me look very promising.
Could be a possible alternative for you guys.
Meanwhile with my facelift already done and still wanting to drive the car, I was able to retrofit one of those those $50 HID low beam kits that include 2 low beam, 2 ballasts, 2 wires, etc. into my facelift headlight bodys and I'm rolling around even at night! At least I can see at night and drive the car around while I gather all my parts to the final facelift headlight solution.
There's another harness on that website.. does that mean you can finally upgrade the 03-04 comand to the newer 05+ comand?

1. New plugs/harness provided by the link I sent you.
or
2. "adapter" kit which has been rumored but I haven't seen and until I see them, can't imagine that they exists!
You are awesome. The second plug with the 2 wires that came off the old headlight assembly. What did you do with that small plug? Do you need to merge it into the new plug?
Thank you for sharing.
Take of those wirings from the "old"plug and install them at the new one... as the picture show it. If I remember right those brown wires thickness is different so go after that.
Only thing you also must do is buy new "contacts" which fit the new plug. They are different. I bought mine from Mercedes. It's not so easy to do it.... It took few hours for me to do it.
At the pictures you can see the new plug from booth sides so you can be 100% sure you install them at right holes.
