RR, after the burnout I roll it slowly to stage, helps bring IATs down. Once I trigger the second staging bulb I slowly bring the revs up to around 850/1050 by the time Im on the last bulb I try and flash the converter by stomping on the peddle while disengaging the brakes. You want to be progressive. My 60s suffer if I bring the stall up to 1200 and hold it there waiting for the green light. Point is to flash the converter.

Not many SL55s running OZ, would be cool to have another SL55 running some good #s.
Need to get my hands on an 82mm throttle body and I'm done.

This is a mod where we can keep costs low, considering how much vendors ask for an 82mm kit. Plenty of guys running Audi and Porsche TB with little to no issues. I've got my eyes peeled for one.

I was there that night,, after that run,(which was a hemi charger he was running) later when he was in staging, no one would get beside him, it is bad when no one will run you. jim

i did a search for the audi a8 throttle body. but, basically anything that had the 4.2 v8 is the correct one. i bumped a thread in the e55 section that had all the info you needed to do the wire swap about 1.5 weeks ago.
i can show you what i did for the egr. while the hoses are big coming from the egr off the valve covers, the inside hole is less than 1/16" dia. i just spliced in an air compressor air filter with 1/4" hose ends and routed back into an open port i had right after the tb. since i changed the flex hoses, i couldn't hook up the fresh air portion of the system either. i just purchased a 3/4" mini filter to hang off the stock tubing.
shardul has the weld on adapter plates. i was able to wrap up the entire project for around $225.
