the tablet holder for sl owners with decirning tastes
ok, kind of a retarded project i admit, but, i couldn't help myself. most of the tablet holders would fly off the dash on hard throttle, slop over, or just generally be crap in this car. none mounted it where i wanted in a quality manner.
i will mostly be using it for a gauge center, but also for music and entertainment. it is a galaxy tab 2 with a 32gb sd card. i will be hard wired directly to ecu, or, i can choose to do bluetooth to the ecu. some good android apps that act as readers, real time readouts, trip meters, g-force meters, and loads of other stuff.
i bent up some 1/4" wire to follow the contours of the dash. after that, really just lots of little pieces to fit and weld. quite a few hours into this actually, haha. it is rock solid, and does not come into contact with leather at all. i have a rubber spacer to preload it and create tension so i won't get any sqeeks i hope. i have some very dence foam that will go inside the mounts to hold the tablet.
here is the rough finished product before finishing. hope to have the system up and running by tomorrow night!

well, painted and finished. not the coolest thing in the world, but, alot better than a store bought or mail order type of mount. install is 100% reversible with zero damage done to leather or anything stock.
