Lurker out of the darkness...
Good Morning all,
After many years as a loyal Benz owner, I finally decided to take the leap and put together my "cruiser". I have read hundreds if not thousands of posts on this site, but it has helped so very much with my "project". It began as a mint, low mileage 2009 SL600 from North Olmstead Mercedes. It was then sent over to Jim Shields at Collection Motorsports for some serious love....
I thought I'd share a few shots of the "almost" finished car (Waiting for the Brabus 220MPH Instrument cluster). The car has the New RENNtech Carbon Fiber spoiler/wing also...

I agree! I've owned many brands of diffusers, and Laser Interceptor is the only one that has worked 100% of the time. Proof positive...as recent as two weeks ago, it saved me from a direct laser hit.

+1 more for Laser Interceptor.
I have the Escort Passport system hardwired into the SL. The radar detection isn't nearly as good as my V1, so I hardwired my V1 in and use both...but the V1 is far superior.
And as far as the jammer go...worthless! Luckily I live in AZ where laser isn't a big threat. Ka band is huge here. They really don't use anything else.
BUT, I DID have a Laser Interceptor system on my old 540i. I rarely needed it, but it saved me on a few occasions.
Most memorable:
I'm blasting down a 55mph freeway doing 80-85. The Laser jammer siren goes off and I eventually notice a motorcycle cop with a laser gun on the side of the road. My reaction time was really weak and I thought by sure he had got me as I was almost past him by the time I slowed down. Nope. I look in my rear view mirror and the cop is now holding the gun away from him and looking at it like 'WTF." Priceless.
I was laughing all the way to work.

So, how many people tested the new K40 Laser jammers that say they are junk? none of ya's? how is it that I have a Laser Interceptor acquaintance and got popped not once but twice? Sure it saved his **** many of times, but I have yet to hear anyone with the K40 laser jammers hear they got a ticket... something fishy there.... And the owner of this car has the new K40 G5 laser jammers on it. It's weird that laser interceptor thinks they have the best product on the market, but won't reimburse the client if they get a ticket like K40 does? LI only works on the internet and k40 never works... just glad the real world is different. Bruce the car is a beauty, seen it at the auto show, love the RENNtech wing, car is awesome.
