2013 SL63 Euro Headlights

Hi

I just recently purchased a 2013 sl63 and i'm not happy with the North American style head lamps with the orange in them. It would be nice to swap them out for the euorpean style lights... Is this possible??

Thanks

I'd assume it's a plug and play swap, but I think you'd have to buy the whole headlight. So it'd get expensive quick.

2013 sl euro style light

Have you had any luck with this? I feel the same and this is what I have done so far. I have removed the front bumper in order to remove a light housing. The amber lighted strip is fiber optic so I'm not sure is there is anyway to change it to white. Also to remove the amber reflector inside the housing you would have to separate the lens and this is not an easy deal. I talked to our dealer here and they are not able to source the euro part so I called a dealer in Rome Italy and they are looking into the cost and time to get the parts in. The headlight housing comes without the hid and electronics. These parts would swap over from the lights on the car now. The Italian version does not have the amber reflectors and the light strip is white. Also the Italian version is set for right lane drive like we are here is the states. I have family in Rome that can pic up and ship the new euro style lights to me once in. I will post once I have all the details and cost.

I completely agree with you guys... That orange piece of crap make the car look cheaper.

The euro version looks really better.

Well after weeks of calls to mercedes Italy and my brother going to the dealer in rome it's ended up at a dead end. They can order the lights at a cost of 2200.00 each but no guarantee on them working for us car. I'm pretty sure they will plug in and operate the same but it's not a guarantee. My next step.... I already pulled a head light and there is a fiber optic line with an amber light source that creates the amber light running across the headlight. I am going to disassemble the light and remove the light source to see if its possible to male it white or replace it. No clue at this point and there are no replacement parts from Benz for this fiber optic light. I will update when more info is found.

Sounds like a frustrating outcome. Let us know how the LED (I assume) retrofit goes.

That would be great. They will not ship these parts to a US Mercedes dealer. Here are the part numbers. A2318202561 / A2318202661

Not sure if you have a dealer account set up for dealer pricing or not but we'd do here and it makes a big difference in cost.

Let me know and thanks!

Randy
