SL55/63/65/R230 AMG: SL65 and the Texas Mile
My daily driven 2006 Mercedes SL65 (with 65,000 miles) ran 185.1 mph in the Texas Mile last weekend! That's 5 mph better than I was expecting.... Very happy with this car. I've driven it back and forth to work every day for the last 3 years and for it to be able to run that fast without any additional prep work is just amazing......
Mods are Renntech tune and intercooler.
It ran faster than several stock Corvette ZR1s and even a stock Ford GT that was there......

Wish I had gone over and talked to you, Maybe next year.
I was hoping/wishing I could get close to you speed. Best I could get was 173. Your car is very consistent. Here is couple shots I got of your car.

So far, the best 1/4 mile time from this car is 11.1 @ 129.7 mph with a 1.72 sixty foot time on street tires.

I'm toying with the idea of getting it as some point. Have you had any problems with coil pack burnouts after ECU tune????
Thanks.

I can't imagine what I would do with any more torque than it already has. Traction control comes on almost every time I accelerate as it is, even when I'm not getting on it.
I have replaced the coil packs once already, but that was before the Renntech flash.

How did your brakes do? I had new pads and now it looks like I used about half of pad and rotors. The rotors did get a little blue from the heat.
