Wheel repair?
Has anyone successfully repaired two-piece SL wheels? My 05 E55 came with chrome 19” SL wheels. Sadly though California roads took out five of them, all four at one time, and then a front wheel three months after the four where replaced. They’ve sat in my garage for three years, as I grew tired of California roads bending them.
I tried to have the bent one repaired but I was told Mercedes doesn’t sell the rivets to reassemble the wheels. The wheel had to come apart to repaid, I bought this because I believed Mercedes would do something like this and the Stearlership confirmed this when I inquired with them. So they sat in my garage boxed up for about three years as the rear wheels have tires mounted and serve as an emergency back up.
Today however I had someone repairing my CCW’s that America’s Tire scratched. He said the wheel used bolts and not rivets, but he would need a special tool to take them apart.
Can anyone with experience on these wheels clear this up for me please? Has anyone repaired these successfully before? I did a search but couldn’t find anything.
It’d be nice to have the set complete to possibly sell or even refinish with a two-tone paint and serve as a winter or track set up. Unless someone needs a front and two rears? Any insight would be greatly appreciated!
And since everyone loves pictures I'll share some. Maybe I'll roll with some bigger tires and just forget about potholes like the scud has?

A new wheel for my SL65 is £1350 each,
BUT would you trust a repaired wheel when your clocking 150 mph.
I am buying some 20 inch Mandrus wheels, however the roads
are so bad I am thinking twice about replacing these every time
you go over a pot hole, what are they doing with our money, certainly
not fixing the roads.

I would rather have a none pulsating steering wheel than super cool wheels for everyone else to see while I my hands get numb from a vibrating steering wheel.

The rims should be easily reparable from any reputable rim shop. I've got a guy in AZ, but that doesn't help you.
Hopefully someone in your area can give you a recommendation.
I had 2 rims on my SL600 repaired. I was running 19" CLS55 chrome 5 spokes and ended up cracking one and bending another.
For some reason the Benz rims seem to crack while all my previous rim repairs were for bends.

+1 that is why I stick with my 18 inch stockers which many think are fugly, but they seem to handle the crap roads we are forced to drive on. I have had mine trued a few times though.

looked to small, having said that yours look good, have you lowered it.

Thanks sound! Yep, lowered with ELM. I does seem to make the rims look bigger, also makes the car look a bit more aggressive.

Mine is dropped close to 2 inches in the photo if I remember correctly. Then at 15 MPH, the car raises back to 1/2 of normal height. At 30MPH, it goes back to normal drive height. I get all of the advantages of the lowered look without the headaches. My tire wear has been normal since adding the module.
The controller sits nicely where the phone harness that I don't use anyway used to be.
