good read on maintenance diy
found this while looking for some info online. good read with lots of diy info. even a article on swapping out the abc suspension. yup, strutmasters has a kit for the sl500 that should work on the sl55 if the fix it light is turned off in the ecu. option is already there due to the black series, just need to have it turned off.

I have contacted Strutmasters about that kit in the past... They say it isn't for the SL55 BUT I can't see why it won't work They have a "Light Fix Module" that they sell for the light issue BUT I betcha you could do it through STAR.

If the car has ABC suspension you will need to remove the ABC pump and put a fixed idler pulley in it place.
If the car has airmatic you will able to use the SM kit and code the car to steel susepnsion.

the springs in the strutmasters kit is eibach, so you could call them to get different spring rates at about $75 a spring if you wanted to change rates.
for me, i am so low i use the ride height button an average of every 10-15 minutes. so i am going to keep the abc on mine. all is in great working order and no leaks so far!

You would need the power steering pump from a black series not a fixed idler to retain power steering
