SL55 Hardtop (Flap)
So recently run into the common problem of my right flap starting to hang a bit when raising and lowering top. Able to manually hold the flap into position to allow for closing of top.
Per recommendations from the community, bought the parts immediately under flap (roughly $50 for the 2 sides. - Part number 120448100.)
Unfortunately, this did not fix the problem, and local Mercedes dealership is now saying the whole assembly is necessary to resolve the problem.
Part number 2308201942 is their recommendation at: $515.00 from the dealership. (Whole assembly.)
Don't get me wrong, don't mind paying for what is necessary, but tired of paying for the items we don't need.
Thoughts? Any way to just purchase the right passenger side of this assembly?

I had the same problem but the new braces fixed it. We're you able to readjust the tension to get them sitting nice and tight once you adjusted the cables? When you hold it up in place and it's working then the micro switches are ok so you know that's not it. Hmmmmmm..

Dealer installed the braces, but unfortunately that did not resolve it. Even after continued adjustment. Assuming the whole setup is my next option. Since their adjustment, the passenger side flap now almost completely dangles.

...but to be more specific.. I followed the normal DIY at: https://mbworld.org/forums/sl55-amg-...y-fix-diy.html
this however, did not resolve my issue. Mercedes is saying I now need the entire assembly seen - http://www.ebay.com/itm/MERCEDES-BENZ-MB-OEM-2308201942-Convertible-Top-Motor-Top-Lift-Service-Motor-/370673363766?pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&hash=item564ddaab36&vxp=mtr
My question was more a confirmation of whether I do in fact need the entire assembly, or if the passenger side of said assembly would be even an option.
