2004 SL55 AMG Kompressor
New to me SL55 AMG
Hey guys, just picked up an SL55 AMG Kompressor, few questions, 2004 USA car, now in Northern Canada..
1) how the heck do i set the factory clock?!?!
2) How do i use the shifter for gear shifting in M, rather than the steering wheel paddles.
3) What rims/body kit is this?! the rims are a 20" with a Tri Star Merc center cap..
4) Were the interior accents and steering wheel carbon fiber to begin with?
And, an fyi, I did the baffle "bash mod" with my fuel tank baffle, and so far its working!

Congrats. I think the factory clock is set through the steering wheel buttons on the OBD. The body kit looks like to be an SL65 front bumper paired with lorinser side skirts. (I would go with the OEM side skirts, unless your into that kind of thing.) Wheels look like Roderick to me, not sure.

Your Owner's Manual is your friend.
If move the shifter from side to side, you will be able to shift manually without the paddles.

'05 SL 55 Black/Black w/mods from Eurocharged/Kleemann/BuckheadImports
Hey guys, apologies for getting off topic but where can I buy and how much would it cost me to upgrade my front bumper on my 2005 SL 55 to the 65 front bumper? I already have the carbon fiber front lip so im assuming the cf lip can fit both?

The bumper cover itself is around $2000. You will need fog lights and some other items to do it correctly. I'm sure some other guys on here have exact numbers.

My car didn't come with the owners manual, and looking online it doesn't say in that manual either, just turning the clock from 24/12hour.
Only the paddles will shift her, moving the shifter does nothing....must be broken!
I love how the car looks, and have no plans for going back to stock! Just gotta fix some oil leaks!

Carbon Fiber accents are most likely added by a previous owner.

Hmm, I'll have to play around with it some more...It doesn't have the factory cd/nav anymore... someone decided to 'upgrade' it.
Did the front seal tonight, that was fun, the dampner didn't wanna come off, but I got er, then did the ABC filter just for peace of mind... I freakin love this thing!!!

Ok think the gear shifter manual shifting works only in sport or comfort mode. and if you put it in m mode only the paddles shifters work . You can still put the car in reverse with the stick or park in manual mode. So try that. Put it in park and set it to c or S and then see if you can get the stick to manually shift and you move it sideways left or right.
Also not sure but think manual says you have to have car in park to switch or something. Seems kind of stupid to me. Maybe someone can explain this.

go on ebay and get manuals, the cars too complicated to get buy with out them. you can fin d 65 bumpers on ebay or junk yards for about 500 to 1000, but the internal parts you need will be another 1000 to 1500.
try looking for that body kit in Wald or Lorienser or even ebay

I found the skirts are Lorisner, and the wheels were from EuroWheelsUSA, there's actually a pic of my car on their site when she first got the wheels!!
I'll try that shifter business tonight!! Thanks guys.

Well I was wrong . I put car in manual mode and my paddle shifters work fine. But I can still shift it with the stick in manual mode by going side to side. And it does shift a bit automatically even in manual mode it goes into 1st when stop by itself. So if your car don't shift on the stick pretty much guess in every mode M ,C or S then would say something is wrong.
