Differences between 06 and 07 SL65?

I did some searches and really couldn't find what I was looking for. Was there a difference between the 05-06's and the 07-08's? I thought I read somewhere that there was a difference in the ABC pump and main hydraulic line, not sure if it made a difference in reliability of the system.

Basically, just looking to see if there are any "worth its" out there for the newer model years.

I opted to go for the 07'-08's when i was looking for mine. The bumper is different, has shift paddles instead of buttons, various newer updated electronics, etc. Personally i think it was worth the price difference but that's just me. Good luck.

I thought the electronics upgrades were in 09? Along with the rest of the mid cycle update

I was just referring to updated/ revised part numbers on items that are common issues on the earlier years (not that the later year can't have problems). Things such as coil packs, etc.

The 2006 has larger brakes. There were changes to ABC/SBC but probably not in 07/08

The 2005-06 SL65 has larger front calipers. Through the years there were a lot of upgrades to the R230 ABC suspension like the high pressure lines and the Valve Bodies etc but I don't think the upgrades started until 2009?

Same goes for the SBC brakes and the V-12 Coil Packs... The early coil packs had numbers ending 0480-0580 for for left and right and the upgraded coil packs the numbers end 0680-0780. Does anyone have the part numbers from their 2007-08?

As stated the front bumper is a little different and the shift paddles were added. I think I remember the 2007-08 was advertised with slightly more power.

I had the V12 Coil pack numbers wrong. early are 0480/0580 late are 0680/0780

Memory is fading!

I had the V12 Coil pack numbers wrong. Early V12 Coil Packs part numbers end 0480/0580 The later (Supposedly upgraded) Coil Pack numbers late are 0680/0780

The later years had the 6 piston calipers instead of the 8, but I'm assuming the surface area of the pistons was the same. Regarding the bumpers, what exactly changed? I thought they looked identical on the 65? 55 I do see the difference.

2005-06 had side grilles where 2007-08 had louvers

On the 2005-06 bumpers there were removable metal screens made from the same material as the front grilles... On the 2007-08 the sides had louvers and it is hard to tell but the shape of the front grilles (3) were slightly different also...

The side grilles/ louvers are vents are for venting the oil cooler but only on the right side. The left side is a faux that is there to match the other side...

Also the 07-08 SL65 has different exhaust pipes in back and the grill has 1 less bar, as compared to 05-06.

Bringing this back up...

There seems to have been a lot of 65's built in the 2005 model year, and there are definitely many of those for sale now. Would you guys say that any of these newer 07-08's have something significant about them that would warrant paying the higher price tag?
