Cheap SL65BS with fire damage

http://www.salvage-cars-for-sale.inf...09-MjMwMzM5OTA

Not something you see everyday, this car is burnt to toast. You can see the fixed roll bar exposed and the widened rear quarters around the taillights in the 4th pic. Assuming the car was all stock, they really opened up the downpipes quite a bit on the Black Series. As seen in pic 9. I don't think mine are anywhere close to that diameter leading up to the cats. Just a little more reason to consider adding downpipes. Its crazy to think of how many 65s have been totaled. I'm sure it will make finding parts nearly impossible in 20-30 yrs for idiots like myself who hope to still have one.

Holy ****!!! I'm not aware of any other SL65 BS totaled but there goes one, only 174 in the US if not less. It's a shame too usually cars like those you need to pamper, seeing that they are ultra rare. As for parts yeah, in about 20-30 years parts will be hard to come by, lets hope 3D printing gets advance enough by then so we can upload the specs and print out the part.

That is yard art! Bit_ches Put a shiney new CF AMG engine cover over engine bay & DONE lol The only pieces remotely/possibly still salvagable are the 2 exhaust tips, & that's still a big stretch..

Shiiitt $200 starting bid? I just pony'd up 2 Benji's for Gits N' Shiggles

Black series? There is no roof??? Was it cut off? Or was this just SL65 with a bodykit?

It would be kinda funny if you have the place to put it, I'm sure a nice set of wheels would take the attention off the minor damage. The only thing is it make take years for the toxic smell to go away.

If you look on the site its actually listed 3 times with different pics(same VIN). One shows the motor, tranny and exhaust all in one on the roof as if the tranny housing was just pealed off. Either it was hit by a meteorite or maybe the coils got to hot, who knows? You can see the CF remains in the trunk area and the extended body panel around the tail lights that the kits don't really offer. To me it appears to be the real deal, I'm sure someone could run the VIN to confirm.

Well I don't doubt your findings on the VIN, but at the same time, I don't believe everything I hear. The entire car looks to have been molten lava at one time, I can't imagine reading a VIN off of it to be easy, or even possible. Regardless of your findings take a look at this pic, the roll bar looks identical and there is a ton of carbon fiber remains in the driver's seat area and the trunk. In the burnt up pics it appears to be brackets towards the outside of the car on the roll bar, which would have secured the CF roof. Also the rear quarters around the tail light looks to be sheet metal. That becomes an ton of work on a 2009 SL65 almost not even cost effective. Any way you look at it, whether its a $200k car or a $300k car its still sucks. In a way I question your findings to be accurate, based on what I see, but if you can search a real BS and get info then who knows? I've been wrong before.

You're correct on both points, the rear 1/4 panel flairs are indeed sheet metal on real BS, only the Hood, front 1/4 panel flairs & entire trunk lid are Carbon Fiber. Lastly the Frame/for fixed roof is spot on a BS car only

All i did was run the vin using the vin decoder on this sight , if it were a BS that would be a big screw up on vin numbers. Theres not a whole lot of SL65s around let alone very few BS..I had done some looking when i got my car and the numbers for 2006 SL65 were like 320 made. Plus theres 100k missing in insurance money with a wrong vin to who ever owed this car. But these days who knows with it being a pile of whatever you call it now..im sure the salvage people don't even know LOL
