Only thing I don't like about jags is how often they break down, My friend had an XKR, the engine gave out three times while under warranty, and with my experience the transmissions were crap. But not gonna lie there always pretty and feel nice to drive inside and they tend to be very smooth

XKR-S versus F type R
Had two supercharged Jaguars and both were crap, just way too many problems for a brand new car in this price range.
No performance/aftermarket parts or sole source.
Insides small with weird shaped console.
Cheap looking plastic switchs/knobs and finishes.
At least XKR-S (GT) has an interior more fitting to a Jaguar.
F Type R
XKR-S

SL 55 and a GT 3000 vr4 Here's my car: http://home.online.no/~ludvs/index.cfm
Try the youtube link in the bottom right corner and after you have opened it, and it still don't work, try and adjust the resolution down a bit.
Hope you then can get it to work, if not maybe your flash player needs to be upgraded?

I will explain, when you look down the sides or from the back, the Jaguar
has sexy lines, now look down the SL and you will see it's all pretty much
straight lines, hence my reference to barges, which also have straight
lines down the side. You must agree as you have added extra bling to your SL to try and make it look better.

No doubt a beauty. If Jag builds in quality with consistency, they'll be a future consideration. That said, as all of us are aware (some find it hard to admit), MB / AMG also have reliability issues. In the end, I find it hard to believe any model of a production Jag will compare favorably with an specially designed and hand built AMG.
All in all, I'll retain my 65.

When you say a hand built MB AMG, are you implying that the whole car
is built by AMG, if it is only the engine that's a different story.
I have spent a fortune fixing all the MB's I have had. My 2009 SL63 was
the only one not to have a single problem. I have had 6 AMG cars and
I have had 5 Jags with the R performance upgrade, I can say without doubt
the Jags were more reliable, however I agree the quality of MB is slightly better. Being a car fanatic every time something catches my eye I want it,
provided I can afford it, it's not being spoilt, I work hard and cars is all I
spend on. My SL63 is suddenly becoming annoying, drove slowly to work
and it seemed to find every bump in the road, and the rear shape with those awful square pipes and flying saucer look doesn't look like anything. One thing and that it's going to be quicker than the Jag, but then when do you get to show off your power, well in the UK never. Then there is money loss. My SL is worth about 85k, the V8 F type is 90k, and I owe 30k on the SL.
I think I'll take up cooking.

Thanks guys for ensuring clarity - NO, I didn't mean TOTALLY hand built. Can't imagine blacksmiths laboring away pouring blocks, tanners treating leather, and electricians soldering connections. I was referring to the heart of the G - the engine.
FYSA - re reliability, I've had my 99 E55 for 5 years and 05 SL65 for a year w/no major repairs required. Brakes, oil, filters, yes. But no repairs. Luck - sure. Thorough research before buying - yes. A lot like marriage - luck and using your big head...

In fact all your comparing an AMG engine with a Jaguar engine.
the rest is built on a production line, both models.
Anyway I can't buy the Jag, my wife wont let me

Flying saucer look doesnt look like anything. I totally agree, how did you not see this when you bought the car? Now your stuck with an ugly slow car man. That sucks. Better sit down and really examine this Jag before 2 years down the road we see you with a self-pity post on the jag forums posting about how crappy the car is and how it looks like a futuristic ***** with LED lights on it. That doesnt look like anything.

Cant believe your wife wears the pants in your relationshop lmao too bad cuz that means your stuck with an old, slow, quiet barge.

Without doubt the Jag is the best looking.
I bought the 63 because it was up at 22 grand discount, at the time I had a beautiful SL65 and it was only the discount plus the white with black wheels
that caught my eye.
If I buy the Jag, the car after that will be a 2009 SL65, that is beautiful and
you can tweak it, and I have a set of wheels in storage for the 65.
