Is a High Stall Torque Converter Worth it?

So far I've done the following

Eurocharged ECU/TCU Dyno Tune
Eurocharged Heat Exchanger
CM30 Johnson Pump
Carlsson Ultra Light 1/16 19 Inch Aluminium Rims
Lowering Links
K&N Air Filters
Quaife Limited Slip Differential
3 Inch Mandrel Bent Custom Exhaust Including:
Catless Down-pipes
X Pipe
Dual Electric Exhaust Cutoff
Hi-Flow Mufflers
Red Painted Brake Calipers

Only thing now to finish my first set of mods is the toe links, which looks like its gonna be Renntech, and maybe adjustable cambers from Renntech or KMAC

So now I'm getting ready for my second mods for the spring and I know I'm gonna do the following

5 Piece Carbon Fiber Interior
Custom Carbon Fiber Steering Wheel
Black Series Body Kit
Mo-bridge Media Unit
Smart Top Module
Trunk Reservoir (Maybe I'm 50/50 on this so far)

But I was wondering is a High Stall Torque Converter worth it? I've heard the High Stall Torque Converters build up heat quicker, but I don't plan to use it all the time, only on the track and that's usually every three-four months on a weekend, but I also heard they make somewhat a difference on the track.

Also is there any difference when you drive normally, I'm asking cause some people say the response of the car is the same when you drive normally, and others say the response of the car is a tad slower.

If anyone recommends High Stall Torque Converters can anyone suggest a brand I should use?

no, not really. all the usable tq and then some is available off idle.

also a higher stall converter has higher pumping losses so you will lose some power too...

I think it would be a lot of fun on your car... around town it would feel a bit more sluggish depending on how high of a stall you went, but launching it would be a blast if you could get traction.

I have no experience with high stall converters on these cars though so take my advice with a grain of salt. I don't know if it would give you any real gains or cause premature drivetrain wear. Stuff to consider.

there is no traction right off idle on anything but vft surface and slicks. a high stall will only amplify the issue on street tires

100% agree, if OP doesn't have a desire to get slicks then a high stall is pointless

There is no traction now, a high stall converter will make it worse by far......

Guess I can put my money towards something else then, thanks for the advise and just stick to my slicks and LSD kicking in

I beg to differ. I got better traction from a dead stop in a car I installed a higher stall vertor. The tq comes in higher in the revs which doesn't shock the tires so bad into spinning. Put plainly it manages the power you have better.

In "a" car or a SL65? I used to drag race in the 10.5" tire class and found your quote to be true but the rear link geometry of the SL does not lend itself well to the same use.
