Took my 600 in for a leak. 60k miles 2004. Turns out to be a leak in the
ABC line, while doing one might as well do the other looking tired, also
fan belt and gearbox mount are oil contaminated, and the steering ball
joints need replacing. That's 3 grand thanks

I too had an expensive experience after my car stereo guy put in a sub in the trunk.

Had to wait 2 months for the glass fiber enclosure to be finished.....

The parktronic brain and the relay for charging the rear battery took a beating and went dead.

Probably an electrical surge thar caused it.

Had to pay 7000 dollars to get it fixed at the mercedes dealer......

But atleast I got superb bass in return.

As the americans say, nothing beats cubic inches, to get that sweet dynamic and solid sound.

I can control the sub level in the armrest compartment, (via audison bit one) so it's very convenient.

Had to place the battery inside the box (150 liters) to get room in the trunk with a switch outside so it doesn't drain out.

Finally got to hear decent bass when the roof is down, but it's ofcourse a compromise, it's much better when it's up.

Just listening to chicane, atb, yello, ayla (nirwana album), makes it all worth it!

Joe satriani's overdriver song is also not bad.

In the the trunk there's a 18" focal K2 power 46 KX 4 sub, and a audison lrx 1.2k.

It's such an fantastic car that deserves more than the stock 8 inch bose sub to really sing.

Just cruising around Molde (varden), and it's fjords is reason enough for living.

The trouble is the guy in service naturally presumes you want everything
fixed and to hell with the cost.
After he told me what was wrong, he said he has ordered the parts and
had booked me in for a couple of days time.
Talk about jumping the gun, what if I didn't have the money to spare,
I just paid my taxes.
