Sl55amg noisy fuel pump
Probably been done to death this one guys,as title, pump or pressure regulator. or both?car is late 2003 46k miles.

Some of them are noisy. Level of noise is not indicative of time to failure though. Some noisy ones last the life of the vehicle.

Try replacing fuel filter. Might help a bit.. Or not

But I know what you mean... The whine can be annoying.

I would replace both if pressure drops and you lean out motor you'll wish you had

??? Need to explain that mate.filter was done 3k ago.another forum member has suggested fuel pressure sensor.keep em coming guys need to sort this out.

Okay,this is what I did,I have a lot of mods done and I monitor them with 2 wide band air fuel ratio sensors,my fuel pump started making noise,I record qtr mile runs,I saw that after the noise started in the fuel pump the AFR was high like in the 14 s. while making runs ,way too lean so I immediately changed pump and filter problem solved.i mean if this is a new noise I would change the pump,

Only just got the car,previous owner said that it had made that noise all the time in his ownership.why does it stop when turning right???the car performs spot on and so far this is my only grumble.

What should the pressure be?if it's too high or low is that the pump or the regulator?thanks for your reply mate.

80 psi at idle and then it will drop to 65-70psi when you drive
