While not new to high performance cars I am new to this platform. With that I have a lot to learn.
Reading the internet and internet forums one would think these cars will just spontaneously self-destruct. With all the problems I have read about made me very apprehensive.. but I did it anyway!!
I got in my car and started it! went for a nice long drive!! I was worried sure, but I had no fire or explosions, hell not even any smoke. The wheels didn’t fall off and the brakes worked too !!
Just a fun sunny day driving around all afternoon with the top down. No problems no worries.
Now I know why I purchased this car.

you said it, MB has had my car for 4 days to fix the doorlock, not even a call yet, in the last 3 months, I have had wheels straightened , low profile tyres, secondary pump replaced , new coils fitted,
and now faulty door locks, I have only had it 5 months and done 1200 miles.

Maybe try reporting twice a day from now on. The stress of not knowing if your car is giving you any trouble yet is distracting, nobody can get anything done.

Now I need a new pump that controls the door locks, Caused by water getting in to the boot, that's another grand,
he then said ,do you want us to fit new boot rubber strips, another 2 grand,

Just got a phone call, your car is ready to be picked up, the door locks
now work fine, unfortunately your lumbar support in your seat is not
working..god that's good as I don't use it.
If you want it fixed it will need another pump...FORGET IT.. I mumbled.

I plan on doing exactly that. Interstate trips. We'll see how it goes.
Then again I took an interstate trip in my Cayenne. Those are suppose to explode and start on fire as well according to internet forums.
I had no problems.

I keep waiting for major problems too, so far I've only had to replace the trans oil pump and I put a stall speed converter in while I was there. I had 05 SL500 before this AMG and replace the accumulators and that was it.
