No, the kit is not like fiberglass. It is much higher quality. The finish is OEM like - looks like it came from the factory that way. Although, how it's painted and prepared plays its part.
is it just the angel or does the front end of mid_cartell's kit look more rounded and elongated than the exclusive auto version. I know that i have seen a couple different rear end versions of this kit.
Wondering if there are different front end versions as well.
Here is some info on the quality of these products provided to me from a bodyshop expert. So it seems quality is depending on how this stuff is made, which seems to be difficult for manufactures to disclose how there's is made when you ask, at least from what I have experienced.
You will see the wet lay up method is inconsistent. The fabric is basically shredded material with resin added by brush. There is no way of properly measuring what areas receive how much resin and fabric. The resin they use does not fully cure so there is shrinkage that can occur, which can lead to warping.
The vacuum bag process compresses the layers cloth (The cloth is woven, similar to carbon fiber). The process is more expensive since it is so time consuming and a lot of consumable materials are used. The result however is a stronger lighter part with no shrinkage.
