Maintenance - A little more than routine

This week I decided to take care of a few maintenance items that have been on my list for a while. I feel really good now and I'm ready for the next 100,000 miles... Here's what I had done;

Rear Main Seal
Transmission Service
Replaced both left and right valve cover gaskets
Had the Engine/Transmission flashed with updated programming
New Tires
New Wheels
Plugs

Wasn't cheap but was a lot less than I thought so all in all I'm very happy. My mechanic said that the motor is in great shape and that I shouldn't need any major maintenance for a good while.

It's probably all in the head but I swear that it drives a damn sight better with the software flash.

Next on the list will be a flush and fill of the Supercharger.

Anyone know of what else I should take care of while I'm ion the mood? I've had ABC flush and fill also. What about rear diff? I'll watch out for the smelly stuff fxrs!

I changed the differential oil in my car last winter - using specified MB oil, a specific Castrol product. The old oil was quite dark, and smelled a little. Did all the rest of the fluids from the Supercharger tot the diff, including ABC, trans, brake fluid and coolant. Car has 50K on it, so I'm quite comfortable with only engine oil and filter for a while.

Preventive maintenance

What else should you do?
Check the motor mounts; the suspension bushings; replace the Park lock in the shifter with metal; bleed the brakes; change the diff fluid; fuel filter wouldn't hurt. Probably more I forgot to add...

Motor mounts are good, replaced by the PO. I had the rotors and pads replaced and flushed the fluid at the same time a couple months ago.

I guess the diff and fuel filter can be done the same time I have the supercharger done. Oh, I need to get the radiator flushed too. I think that should take care of all the fluids. Haven't really thought about the park lock. Do you think that's a necessity?

Depends on your tolerance to having you, or your wife stuck somewhere, generally when it's raining and dark, and needing a tow.
For less than $100 for DIY, it gave me peace of mind it would not happen.
Given the number of threads on that issue, and the reliability factor, yes it was a necessity for me.

coolant is 15 year/150,000k, so you don't need to do that yet. Here is an excellent article on the topic

Another maintenance thing that is going to come up is replacing the accumulators in the ABC system.
