your tire pressure monitor is malfuntioncing. either you are low on air or the program itself is corrupt. take it in and have them check it and put in the approriate air in the tires.

I dont think im low on air because when the malfunction goes away the pressure in all the tires is same but when it comes back i have different pressures in each tire.

thats weird

This used to happen to me when I owned an SL55. I think it is telling you to reset the tire pressure measurement function. I can't recall exactly how you do it, but I think it is described in the owner's manual.

I'm pretty sure its telling you to equalize the pressure in the tires. Tire pressure should be equal for the fronts and the rears.

This is a common problem with the tire pressure monitor, another electronic malfunction to worry about. I ordered mine without it.

I ordered mine without 'Tyre pessure monitor' , only to be later told by the dealer that it is a compulsory extra if you order a performance pack !!

In fairness to the dealer, we split the cost 50/50

Why they don't build the extra price into the overall cost of the performance pack beats me

Funny lot the MB policy makers in Germany.

The real problem here is that any time the car tells you something, it's called a "malfunction" which makes us believe there's a problem with the car where in fact, what you're seeing is a valid warning which you, Mr Driver, need to do something about. In this case, it sounds like your tyres are low, and that the pressure goes above and below the warning threshold as they heat up and cool down.

You just need to check the pressure and top up the tyres - hardly a dealer item unless you are completely incompetent from a car maintenance point of view. You should certainly not ignore the warnings, just as you shouldn't if you have chest pains.

The TPM is there for a reason and I recommend it. Since the SL55 places heavy loads on its tyres, it is vital to run them at the correct pressure to avoid over-heating and unless you are conscientious enough to check the pressures regularly, you need TPM to keep a watchful eye over it. Also, since the SL55 usually does not have a spare, any early warning you can get about a problem with one of the tyres will give you more time to get it fixed.

Thanx BlueSL , i will take it to the dealer soon to check the problem and btw i have a spare in the trunk

Another weird problem popped up this morning.

My A/C went dead , i pressed all the buttons and non of them seemed to work. i switched the car off and back on and it was still the same.

i ignored it until the afternoon and when i switched the car on every thing was back to normal.

Weird Car

That can happen when the battery in the trunk goes flat...
