SL55 NEW PADDLE SHIFTERS
I have received mine this week & tried them out on the road last night; they fit & work perfectly on my YOM 2002 SL55.
Bought off EBay made by Gordon in Coventry, UK.
Visually, the OE steering switches look identical to the ones on the CLS/E55 but I first sent Gordon pictures of them removed where he confirmed they should match.
They are a bit fiddly & exact to fit, so do not come out or slide in as easily as shown on YouTube, but easily manageable for any DIY enthusiast. Do pay attention to the exact method of removal as shown on Youtube.
They feel so much better to the touch & visually. Definitely an improvement.
Just thought I'd share

Hi KAROZZA, are you able to provide me with the eBay and Youtube links please.
Was this a direct fit for your car? Will it work with my MY05 SL55?
Cheers.

Hi,
These are a brilliant idea specially to those people who don't what to hack up their OEM steering wheel to fit the OEM Paddles.
Wish they had been available a few months ago before hacking my wheel up.

Thanks for the links.
Just to clarify my car has a delivery date of 23 July 2004 however it's designated a 2005 model and has all the upgrades. It's quite common for manufacturers to start the next model year halfway through the current year.
Don't get YOM (year of manufacture) mixed up with MY (model year).

Can you please provide an update on these paddles now that they've been on your car for a few months. Are they still holding up well with no issues? Did your plastic surround happen to break during installation? (common issue I noticed in another thread)

I am very happy with them in all aspects compared to OE buttons. Yes, you do have to be extremely careful when removing the OE buttons, mine did split on one of the button housing legs which I repaired with super glue. But, I think that happened because I did not do the exact procedure as shown in the Video.
