Tire Fitment: 295/25/20 vs 305/30/20
Hey guys,
As title states, looking for advice on tire size. I currently
have a set of RennTech Monolites on the SL55, running
a 295/30/20 tire. Would like to replace with 305/30/20
tire on the rears. Will they fit on the car without rubbing?

Hi, I have had 325,305 and 285 on the back. I don't like the ride on 25 profile tyres, so I put 285 x 30 x 20 on, these did not rub and gave a superior ride. You need wider wheels, 11 inch maybe to put 305 and up for
them to work, I had 325 on 10.5 inch wide rears, and the tyres gave a bouncy rolling affect not nice. The 285x30x20 was a good move. This was on
a sl65 standard body, although I now have a wide body I think it's inner
clearance you need, but then you can always get some thin spacers.

Yeah I have 295/30 on a 10.5" rim currently.
I ordered 305/30's which should be coming in today. I will
see if we can get them to fit this afternoon and report back.

Ok guys, just to update, we installed 305/25/20 Michelin Super
Sport 2's on the rear. As stated above, a 30 tire will rub on the
inside of the wheel well.
