So, My Sl55 rolled off a flat bed!!!! WTB front bumper!!
Yep, I had my car towed recently and while the tow guy was winching it up onto the bed, it breaks free rolls off his truck down a hill into oncoming traffic and into a ditch!!! Anyone have a new front bumper in brilliant silver?? I need one bad, if not any 04 SL55 front bumper cover will do.

Sorry to hear! I may not be much help here but, I have a 2008 black (040 code I think? Straight black) I'm going to be swapping on my car. Think the 08 is different then the 04 though and it's the wrong color for you..... I'm replacing b/c the OE cover has a front license plate bracket (with 6 holes....
drilled to mount the bracket and plate) and I don't need one here otherwise in pretty good shape with just a few light scrapes on the underside. GL

It has turned into an isurance finger pointing nightmare. The tow truck driver is trying to claim that my tow hook broke free and therefore not his fault. My ins company is saying if it did indeed malfunction (which it did not) that it will be filed under my policy. They have yet to investigate and i'm about to run out of rental coverage. It's a huge cluster (insert F bomb here) between three insurance companies (mine, the roadside services insurance and the tow companies).
Unfortunately my wife signed us up with a 1k deductible which I do not feel I should not have to pay or pay and wait to be reimbursed as it was not my fault (the joys of being active duty with a wife that handles the bills when i'm gone) but Fortunately I have a great relationship with the body shop who has told me if can find a bumper, they can help me out, get started on the work and mitigate the the initial financial impact, if you get my drift. Damages they have estimated are about 11k, I am surprised it was not totaled!
Dimitri ( Spartan7669 ) Came to the rescue. He and I spoke this morning and he had one left over from his wide body build and sold it to me at a great price, great friendly guy, I have nothing but good things to say about him. He will be shipping Monday.
Just want to thanks to all of you for the support and offers to help! I love this forum!
On a side note did you all read my post about the melting alternator diode issue I was having before the tow truck scandle? replace two alternators and cant figure out whats doing it. I'm on my second new one and fear it will meet the same demise.
