Headlight lens wet sanding

It does not look like wet sanding did anything for my headlight lens...is there a way to open them up and check if the cloudyness is on the inside?

What grit did you use? Do you have pictures?

Yes, very good chance it is on the inside. You would need to take them off the car, put in an oven, and pry them open.

It's not just wetsanding, it's also polishing it.

Also, I personally like using Sylvania's headlight restore kit. It also includes a small clear coat jar that really brings out the clarity and protects it for about a year. I've used others and nothing beats the Sylvania kit (I'm about to do the C55 again, which I did about two years ago).

I used a little 600 and 1200, 2000...and polish/compound.
I think its on the inside if that is possible. I have done other headlights in the past.

Mine were a little cloudy and I sanded them down with a 3m sanding kit on a drill and got them clear coated by a bodyshop. $130 later with hours of sanding, they're slightly hazy on the inside but perfect on the outside. I'm very tempted to open them up to polish the inside.

They seem to have a little white/cloudiness to them. Maybe I'm over retentive or I'm just not used to older cars with exposed headlights (as I seem to have a number of pop-up headlight cars).
