link to EXCELLENT parts diagrams please?
Sorry to bother but I am a bit bothered. I am re-assembling my SL55 after installing a new throttle body. I have a crankcase ventilation hose which is supposed to plug in to the bottom of the intake box. I am faced with 2 male fittings so I must have something wrong. I cannot find a schematic to see how the hoses hook up. The MB sites are useless as are most of the other parts sources. I can't find a site like Ricambi's for Ferrari etc which shows detailed diagrams of ALL parts. A link would be very much appreciated.

You would likely benefit from finding a "copy" of the Mercedes Workshop Info system (WIS) Here is an example of a reasonably priced copy ... http://www.ebay.com/itm/Mercedes-Ben...BVoCfG&vxp=mtr

looking at the attached exploded view, are you talking about hose 137 or 143?
I am guessing you are talking about 137 which uses a double-male joiner to attach to the air intake hose (on the cylinder-number-8 side of the engine) that is installed between the air box and 'y" pipe. ... are you finding that both of the hoses have a double-male joiner in them? (have you been combining or adding new parts like a y pipe assy?)

It just occurred to me that you might be using an aftermarket airbox (like the Renntech or carbonio, etc).
I know in the case of the Carbonio, it has the male fitting built in (as in first pic). The manufacturer is counting on you removing the double-male joiner from you hose (and then connecting your hose directly). HOWEVER, I found the positioning of the crank-vent port on the Carbonio intake was less than perfect, so I added a small length of hose (see second and third pics) and it all went together nicely (this is with an 82mm TB mounted on a 2003 SL55.
Hope that helps,
Chris

I bought a WIS CD pack last year and the system needs to run on "VirtualBox" to operate. Is this true for the WIS system above?
VirtualBox is a total PITA to use in my opinion. Doesn't make it very easy to operate and it would be nice to have a direct file to view and print from.

I have not used a Mercedes Ebay manual in a long time, but I seem to recall the one i used being in a virtual environment. (I have a ford manual like that ... you get used to it). For the mercedes, I am spoiled with full Startek info access. AND even if I did not have that, my star testers have a working copy of the WIS.
Cheers,
Chris

here is a hard copy of the parts list (with some simplified exploded views and other info as well). It is actually simpler to search than the mercedes EPC in many cases.

My apologies to all. I just checked my box of replaced items and there it was, the original rubber Y-piece without the extra double male connector. I had forgotten that the new throttle body had come with a new Y-piece to fit the bigger TB. At least this stupid error of mine has resulted in some links to much better parts diagrams than I was able to find previously. As Homer always says, "duhhhh". Thankyou all again.
This forum is great. I purchased my SL55 with the profit from selling my manual 575M Ferrari. That forum was complete aggro for someone interested in a performance increase from stock.
