SL55/63/65/R230 AMG: Ventilated Seats

I wouldn't worry, they're a waste of money. The air flow is pathetic, might possibly reduce perspiration but if you think they're going to provide real cooling, forget it.

Always on?
Does anyone know how to program, if possible, the ventilated seats so they are always on? I keep having to turn on the ventilation as it's actually quite nice and useful here in So. Florida. True you don't feel a woosh of cold air on the back or seat but, it is helpful reducing/eliminating the wet/sticky shirt when the top's down.

"Always on" shouldnīt be to much of a problem for someone with some skills (just ask at a good local garage...
But it might be problematic for your battery - if the ventilation is on even if the motor is not running.

Thank you, but Iīm smart enough to understand that...
Maybe my english-skills arenīt THAT good, as itīs not my mother language.
I meant the following: As soon as you insert the key, the appliances like AirCondition, TV etc. start working. If you override the switch for the ventilated seats, they would also start running, even if the motor isnīt on... and they would drain the battery.
Better?
Thx SL Boy!

Well sorry to say, but your wrong. Unless I am mistaken and the SL is different to ALL other cars i know, have you ever tried turnign on the airconditioning when the car is on? It might say it is runnign but the compressor works off one of the belts on the engine, the same one as the alternater, so it only works when the engine is running.
In additon, the air conditioning takes huge amounts of power, while tiny fans in the seat do not use much, I would say less than the sound system. THerefore you can go quite a while with it running until the battery goes flat. This wouls therefore not be a problem unless you like to sit in the car with the engine off all the time.
