Renntech Airbox w/ Carbonio Inlet Tubes
Hello Gents,
I have a buddy who got a Renntech Airbox w/ Carbonio inlet tubes. He bought them at an estate sale in Florida and has not need for them anymore. I know these items are mostly cosmetic but, he's practically giving them to me for free. I believe the Carbonio intakes are advertised for E55 and CL55's.
Does anyone know if they can be fitted into my SL55? I'm thinking they may be too short and may not clip onto the radiator edges. I know the Renntech box will fit for sure. I couldn't find any info in the forum threads and Carbonio hasn't returned my emails. Thanks!

Than she
I got the dimensions on the tubes. About 17-17.5 inches long. The SL tubes are about the same length. I see the shape may not be exact but I think they will work. I'll do a test fitting when I get them.
I want the box box for sure but I want to get a pulley and ECU flash more. So stay tuned. I'll give you guys 1st dibs before I post on the E55 forum.

They fit!
Just had to use 1" longer intake bellows from my old BMW M5. Looks like I may have just help increase sales for Carbonio intake tubes! I swear their shape helps magnify the intake "honk" Sounds wicked. I think I car even hear some waste gate hiss! There is very slight contact with the front engine cover but I will put heat proof felt pads on there to protect the carbon finish. I could trim the cover but I don't want to touch it.

I had a bad intake tube on my 2007 SL 55. I ordered a new set and replaced them both ( like $20 each). I popped the hood on the wife's 2002 S430 and noticed that one of her tubes was bad. The extra SL tube was identical and I swapped it with the good used SL tube.
Doesn't surprise me that these intake tubes fit on many models...
Nice engine compartment M5zealot!

Carbonio
I think Carbonio advertises them to fit only CL and E class. They replied to me directly when they said they would not fit. They were correct. As I noted I had to get longer intake bellows and modify the ducting at the radiator. Just making sure if anyone is wanting to buy these - they are not a direct fit.
