Sending ECU For Tuning - Help?

Hello guys!

I'm sending my ECU to the guys at Presser Tech this week for a tune! Sorry for this newbie question but I think it's valid.

I'm going to be replacing my rotors and pads while she's down for 24 -48 hours. Do I need to be concerned with the SBC/ABC freaking out when I jack the car up with no ECU connected? Any advance tips and tricks would be greatly appreciated. (I installed lowering links a month ago)

I decided to go with Presser Tech even though there are tons of local tuners in my city because they guarantee my tune will allow me to pass strict California emissions test. If I don't they will reflash it for me, FedEx next day air etc free of charge. I've also talked to a few guys who have used them and they are very happy with their tune.

You did disconnect the battery before disconnecting and sending the ECU off to the bimbo's--correct--therefore without a battery connection you will not have an issue. Your problems will stat once you reconnect the FU ECU!

Perhaps then you can share your personal experience and knowledge with this company and the ways they FU ECU's. Really intrigue.

I would suggest that before you select a tuner and work on your vehicle, you hone your reading comprehension skills.

Thanks! Scott sent me video how to remove the ECU. I met with one of their customers yesterday with a SL 65 and went for a drive. Amazing! He's had his tune for over a year with zero issues. I'm shocked he actually gets better mileage too - not that matters for a twin turbo V12.

Best yet, he was about to pass his smog test with the tune. Looking forward to your dyno results!

the only way to fully and correctly bleed the brake system is with STAR and a motive power bleeder. you can do a simple rotor change by unplugging the batteries or the SBC unit, but again you won't be able to bleed everything properly. with the DOT4+ fluid these cars use they have a higher initial boiling point, but attract water more easily. fluid should be changed every 2 years as a result, otherwise you might run into a situation where you boil out the water that absorbed into the fluid over time and then have no fluid where the water was and a very serious problem on your hands.
