SL55 AMG (F-1 pace car) Front Bumper
Hi, I damaged my amg front bumper on my 2003 sl500 and need to replace it. does anyone know where you can get the pace car style sl55 amg front bumper? The difference is on the side of the bumper there are air vents as well.

It's only part of the Performance Package
that commes as an option (in europe only?) when you order an SL55 AMG and isn't sold separately unfortunitaly.

If you crashed your bumper, obviously you can replace it. All they need to ask is your car's VIN number and they'll know if you have that package or not. But AMG would not sell to an individual customer.
Same case applies to the AMG Race Suspension or the Quad Exhaust for the 209. There are certain parts which can ONLY be sold or installed in AMG Unique Manufacturing.

Why dont you phone AMG in Germany. Im sure they will sell you one .... - they may only be able to deliver it to a non US address, so find a friend in Europe !

SL 55 AMG
After several phonecalls with AMG it seems to be quite difficult to get those bumpers:
Normally AMG sells them only to owners of SL55s that were originally equipped with the performance package by AMG. Maybe I´ll find someone who owns one of these (he should normally be able to order a bumper...).
I´ll keep you informed.

I sort of hesitate to mention this, because I think this guy is a complete BS artist, can't get him to quote any prices, and he keeps saying email me, but it's a slim possibility:

I have been having a flame war with him, him calling me names and saying I'm cheap, me asking him to give us the prices of all the stuff he says he has.

I have checked with several sources and everybody was telling me you cant buy that bumper as an individual part. It comes with the SL65. Well, I guess you might be able to get a replica, but the original one, dont think so. Just be careful when someone says he can get it/order it!!

Yep, this guy is wierd, and can't get a straight answer, but I submitted the information if it winds being the only alternative. My guess is that he is fishing for business of making replicas.

Absolutely not! You were forthright, helpful, and used personal time to try to find information.
I hesitated to post the info I had, since I was pretty sure, 1. it was a replica, and 2. not sure there is any real availability of the replica.

I just wonder why this guy offers those bumpers and doesn´t even have a proper photo to show... ?
Some minutes ago I received a mail from a guy who owns a SL55 with the performance package installed. He´ll ask his dealer if it´s possible to get one of those bumpers as "spare-part"...
