Are there any negatives to getting the Panoramic Roof? Making buy decision tomorrow.

I'm buying an SL55 tomorrow. I have been offered one in black with the panoramic roof and another silver without. My initial impression was to not get it but after seeing the car in black it's almost not noticeable.

Is the panoramic roof noisier or more prone to rattling or creaking? Any input would be really appreciated from those with the panoramic roof.

Thanks for any help.

Both the black and silver look great with pano roof, and there are definitely no negatives to getting it. It opens up the inside and makes it appear more spacious, airy, etc, and I love mine with the black/ charcoal leather.

If both cars have similar options, id say go for it without hesitation. I havent heard of any negatives lately.

From a performance side...the pano roof does add some weight. I would not (and did not) get it.

saw it once

saw it once on a silver SL55, it does definitely make the inside more spacious in feeling, However the draw curtain I think may rattle after a while - mind you so would the roof

overall - if you are thinking about it, go for it. no other car will have this feature. yes it adds more weight, but i do not really feels you will really notice the difference

I chose not to get the Pano Roof here in South Florida. I was most concerned about interior heat when it's parked in the sun during summer. I know there's a shade to pull but, when I had sun roofs in previous cars, I ended up pulling the opaque shade and never using just the glass roof. So, as with the sun roof and my SL it's either all the way closed or all the way open and nothing in between.

Thanks. I'm interested in your Passport SRX installation and experience. Pls see my last post in the SL and SL55 forums.
