SL55 AMG - S/C Pulley is Goning Bad. Upgrade or Stock?

Hi all,
I just bought a SL 55 AMG and realized that S/C pulley is missing ball bearings and making weird noises..
Looks like I am due for new S/C pulley. I see that people are upgarding their pulleys to 77mm or smaller than stock one.
Do you guys recommend pulley upgrade or just keep it stock 87mm?
What brand pulley do you guys recommend? I see lots of different options online with minimal reviews.
Do I have to do ECU mod after replacing pulley? I dont have much time these days I just want to get pulley replaced and be on my way, if upgrade is OK and wont harm anything then where do buy upgraded version? Is there any other upgrades do I have to do in order to keep S/C safe or cooler?

Thanks

This is a reference photo I found online. Pulley in my car looks exactly the same with missing ball bearings.

If you want to stay stock and save money, just replace the bearings. They're sold on eBay.

Be sure and check the belt. If it's the original this would be a good time to change it.

You can buy a smaller 83mm pulley from Eurocharger for around $400. That's what I did.

I also changed the bearing on my stock pulley, just make sure you don't a cheap chinese knock off.

Okay ay here is the update.
I a had mechanic to remove pulley from the car. I will swap bearings later today and bring pulley back to shop tomorrow so he can install but here is the issue. I am not sure how this has happened but those two pins broke while he was trying to remove screw from pulley.
should I be worried about this? What is the purpose of these pins? It seems like like they hold washer in place but does it really matter?

Mine did the same thing, no problem.

BTW, use some sandpaper and clean the rust up on the mating surface

Don't know how many miles are on the SC, but you might consider changing the oil in the SC, since the life of the pulley bearings had been exceeded! Need about half qt of Mobil Jet oil and a medium sized syringe with small tygon tubing for the job.

Welcome to the pond.

Take your time and make sure you get all the SC oil out. You need to keep repositioning the tube to get all the oil out.
It's about 100ml total

Today my tech installed the pulley with new bearings, all worked out pretty well.

I had him to change drive belt, SC belt, engine oil and oil filter.
He added exactly 8qt 0-40 Mobil 1, right after I left his shop I got “Engine Oil Leve, Reduce Oil !” warming at dash. Warning comes and goes. I say it comes about 30 mins after start driving and stays on for about 5 mins then goes away.

I parked the car, let it cool down for 30 mins and check engine oil level while car is in DYNO mode and car shows 8.1 qt oil.
I did not check oil level prior changing the oil, never had that type of warning though. I dont car does not have too much oil in there,
There is no coolant leaking or anything.
any thoughts?

I know this but dash warning tells me to reduce engine oil, does not tell me to add oil even though there is 8 qt oil only.

perhaps he did not get all of the old oil out. Did he remove BOTH drain plugs?

Exactly what mine looked like. I was able to replace the bearing only for $60. Removed the bearing with a large bench vice and bushing. Installed new bearing by freezing the bearing and heating the clutch to about 250 Deg. Re shimmed to spec,, and works great. PS, it is not missing bearings as each ball has a specer in between, but the dust shield is gone and so are the spacers. Since you still have more than 180 deg if bearing contact, no damage should have occured to the supercharger. My dealer wanted to replace entire supercharger fearing it had lost the *****. to the tune of $6500. Check the idler and the tensioner pulleys for wear also.

Guys, I’m hearing some chattering from the area of my supercharger.

And I found small, broken pieces of plastic in the bearing, next to the ball bearings. Some appear to be missing.

I assume I just need to swap the bearing out?

Sounds like a Perfect opportunity to upgrade the pulley, If not you can purchase just a replacement bearing aswell., https://www.vrpspeed.com/product/nachibearing/
