Pics of Bel RX75 Plus Installation
The 1st pic is of the unit; 2nd shows the LED that flashes red when there's an alert; 3rd is the right front diffuser behind the mesh; 4th is the left front diffuser; 5th is the radar antenna right under the star behind the perfs; 6th is the rear diffuser; 7th is the one touch mute and 2 touch cut off of laser jamming and allow police to get signal after slowing down; 8th is my view of the control unit; 9th is the non view from the window. My cost installed was $1,139. This is the same unit as the Passport SRX.. Radar wise it is solid and in some side by side with my V1 it has been better sometimes but worse others. I am having the V1 hardwired to see if the radar section of this unit is good enough under constant comparison for a while. I believe it is the best remote radar/laser jammer with the Passport SRX but for less money. I'd be happy to answer any questions any of you may have. thanks to all who previously explained there installations and to those that helped me post this.

I have only seen the rear laser diffuser on and did not see the cop however I frequently drive through there and it never went off again so I have to assume that an attempt was made to read my speed and failed since I was travelling about 25MPH over the limit. I've only had the car for 1 month. Laser jammers are legal in most states (not all) and as far as I know there are only radar detector detectors not laser ones.

Nice install Pablo!
We have a couple of communities here that have mobile speed cameras. In my town they have to put a sign up in the road that they are using photo radar....they don't use instant on so you can pick it up no problem.
I did almost get snagged once....I was doing about 60 in a 45 zone when I saw the camera car. I knew that I was snagged....but as I went by I ducked my head down ubder the dash. As they have to have a pic of the driver in order to make it stick....No ticket ever showed up!

Bel vs K40
Did you look at the K40 before you decided on the Bel? If so, what made you pick the Bel? Also, does the Bel have rear radar? I was told its only front radar, front and rear laser.

The Bel RX75 plus is the exact same unit as the Escort SRX. Neither has rear facing radar but in every test I have seen (plus my extensive detector experience of over 25 yrs) indficates that this is not an issue. Radar fired toward a car from the rear is always picked up. The Bel has much better laser protection than the K40 (more diameter of protection per difuser and 2 for the front as opposed to 1) and its radar abilities are as good in most cases and in some better. The K40 is a dealers delight with a huge profit margin. The question with remote radar detectors is range against instant on (picking up a small burst on a vehicle far ahead) and rolling radar (a police car driving quickly in the opposite direction). IMO, nothing is better than the Valentine1 for radar detection, not even the Escort 8500, so I am using my V1 and the Bel until the Bel has proven to me that it will not let me down. I have had detectors from all manufaturers on my windshield with the exception of Whistler and Cobra. I started with the Fuzzbuster in 1977-78? If i'm going to keep the V1 on my windshield in my SL55 I will need to purchase another windshiled mount detector for my other car. In this case I may get the 8500 just to know for myself but my money would be on the V1 and that the Escort would get returned. As far as Laser goes the only other units besides the Escort/Bel I would consider is the Lidatek Laser echo. All the rest are not as good.

Thanks for your comments. I have a V1 that I'm going to hard wire into my SL55. I used the V1 in my Turbo and I added a K40 laser difuser in the front for added protection. Would you recommend that set-up again or something else? The K40 difuser can be installed for around $400.

Barry, I would discourage you from using the K40 and would recommend the Lidatek Laser Echo LE20 dual unit that they recommend for SUV's. Don't get the one they recommend for cars as this only has 1 front difuser. They assume the police will only target your front license plate and if they target your headlights the protection net is questionable. They both have a rear difuser. This IS NECESSARY! I've been caught once with rear laser 1.5 yrs ago and have been fired at from the rear recently and blocked it successfully with the Bel. The difference in price, $100, for the dual version is worth it. You can go to:

Another recommendation is the Passport Zr3 for 500. Dual front, one rear. It is what I have.

If you need any help with your installation as far as tips and or suggestions pls feel free to PM or email me. I'm glad to help fellow enthusiasts to enjoy our extraordinary automobiles.

More on Laser jamming
The K40 fires an 800 nm laser to difuse, the Lidatek
fires the same 900nm strength as the police laser to jam, the Bel/Escort
fires 904nm! I'm becomming more and more convinced, with the lack of more
formal info, that the Lidatek LE-20 is at best the equal of the Bel/Escort.
The Lidatek LE-30 seems to be out but not the rear diffuser which I assume will be coming later. There were QC issues with the LE-20 especially in the beginning. I need more info on this so if anyone has any pls pass it on. For now I would be careful. I feel more confortable with the Bel/Escort products - ZR3 is laser only with the Bel RX75 Plus and Escort SRX being complete remote systems.

Mercedes E55 AMG 2004
Hi Pablo....I have recently purchased the ZR3 and I'm going to install it on my E55....one question I have is that I think the Lidatek has a auto shut down function for a set number of seconds after it has "jammed" the laser....for the ZR3...do I have to manually press the mute button twice to shut it down? I won't do so automatically right?
Many people my end of the world are using the Lidatek...but from most of the reviews I reads I think the ZR3 is the better system......

Yes you are right: no auto shut off. You must hit the mute button twice whenever you want to shut down laser jamming. It automatically resets after 1 minute I believe. I have the complete Bel RX75 Plus but the it is the same as the Escort SRX. They both have the same laser unit as the ZR3.

I have nothing but good things to say about the Escort SRX system. Not only has it saved my *** a number of times but, it's very, very descreet. True the cost is high but, what's $500 in a $130k+ car and have it all?
Pablo's set up is very similar to mine save for where the display is located. I placed mine in the center arm rest glove box as I don't need access to it once it's all set up. My warning light is below the reset button between the Tach and Speedo and my mute button is placed near the ride height control button near the gear shift. The detectors and difusers are all located in virtually the same places.
