SBC 'Hold' and 'Stop' features
How many of you guys know about the 'Hold' and 'Stop' features on the SBC system ?
I was unaware of the features, and exactly what they did until I read the Manual properly.
If you all aready use these features, do you find them usefull ?
If like me you didn't know you had it, you had better read the manual too !

us it all the time
SBC Hold is used more often, great when you are at traffic light, bring the car to a halt, then press the brake firmer till the SBC H signal appears
SBC stop not that useful as yet, really good if you are crawling in a traffic jam. where i live no real traffic jams so far

Hoping for Those Features
Tony,
I am so hoping that those features have not been deactivated in the US version of the SL. Due to the litigenous (sp?) nature of our country, a lot of neat features such as SBC Hold and Stop are deactivated. SBC Stop in particular would be helpful in Honolulu traffic.

follow my instruction about sbc hold.......bring car to a complete stop, without letting go the brakes, press quickly harder and the sbc hold sign will appear underneath the spedometre.

Sure , I found about it by accident and I thought something was wrong with my car and wanted to take it to the dealership . What you'll have to do is once you stop your car (while the gear is still on Drive) Press the break pedal all the way then let go. If you heave it you'll see the "SBC H" appearing in the left side of the cluster underneath the speedometer.
Let me know if it works out.
BTW my SL is also a 2004 but it's not a US model I have it in Saudi Arabia.

MBWorld Fanatic!
SBC Hold and Stop are new "features" introduced to try to rescue SBC from oblivion. More bug prone software getting in the way between you (the driver) and the car. New software, same dreary old braking system.
