I've seen a M3 CSL in the UK at a track event a few weeks back.
I must say it's has the best sounding straight 6 you could ever hear.
For any motor for that matter, It just howls...
It would beat an SL 55 hands down on a track, but no chance in a straight line.
I tried to get one in to the US, but it's a big red flag.
I wonder why?

Go to rank1's thead, Lots of r230 SL videos etc, go into the videos folder and get the CSLvsSL55.wmv. I've seen it before and I am pretty sure it is the same one except slightly shorter from memory.
