2004 SL55AMG, 2015 C300
CD Changer in glovebox.
Hi,
Relatively new to me 2004 SL55 AMG. Imported from Japan. Everything I've looked at indicates the cd changer is behind the drivers seat. Mine is in the glove box, with a curved top to conform to the compartment.
Anyone else seen this? It does have an after market Pioneer radio. And I wonder if it's also aftermarket, but, it fits in there like OEM.

I seriously doubt that the CD changer is factory - but that curve does raise an eyebrow...

I think they got lucky with that CD changer shape.

It is a LHD.
Indeed the curve is the factor that makes one question it. I'm going to remove it just to see if there's a mb part#.

Height is key too!


My curve is the same in my 2007 SL55. Let us know what you find on the CD changer...

I removed the entire glove box today. Turns out it isn't a CD changer, but simply CD storage. No wires or circuits. It's factory clipped right in, and appears to be OEM. I think I'll leave it, and maybe modify some old CD's to hold gas/car wash card. And another slot for registration slip.

Thanks. Never seen it with tan. But it’s likely out there somewhere. The white with red interior is pretty rare. Even more rare with P030. Photos always have the red coming off strong. It’s much more chill in person. It’s a great combo.

The Japanese market cars came with interesting electronics specific to Japan imports only. Wouldn't be surprised at all if that's factory.
