My SL 65 came In

If you guys are wondering how the new 65's perform, well lets just put it this way, if you have ever drove the SL55 or SL600, they seem slow compared to the SL65, i used to have a SL600 and this thing makes it feel like chump change comparied to the SL55, i mean the 738 foot pounds of toruqe push you back in to the seat like theres no tomorrow. I mean this guy in a SL500, asked if i wanted to race him, and i was like fine, so we raced, and as soon as he noticed that the car seemed to be puring, he got this looking on his face that was a kodak moment, the light turned green my tires turned in to smoke and his barley did anything, i was at the other light by the time he was barley half way to where i was. Then he said, "What the hell is that thing" i said, " A 65 pal." But anyway if any of you guys are will to for over the 200g's then i highly recommend the SL 65 AMG.

I smell BS....

How about those pics? Im still trying to see if the SL65 and the CL65 use the same rear break caliper. Could you tell me? I have seen photos of the SL65 with the same caliper as the SL55 (but with a larger 2 piece rotor) while I have seen the CL65 use the larger 4 bolt C32 front break caliper in the rear and not the one off the CL55. But some people say the US spec 65's use the same breaks on both cars. Can you clear this up for me?

It looks like the same caliper with the two piece rotors on my SL65.

Dude..... either you're a Super Rich guy a.k.a billionaire.... or you're a complete liar (no offense, though :p)

SL65: ~$170K
CL65: ~$160K (not sure)
S65: ~$150K (not sure)
E55: $80K
ML55: $70K
Total: $630K

If this ain't , then why didn't you buy Enzo or get F50 or even McLaren??? That'll be a more headturning car than 5 AMGs.

And you also said you would get an SLR???? So total possibly around $1.5MM for cars??? Better give some to your community dude....

Why would you want to drive an Eclass when your have an S class, and why would you want a CL class when you have both an SL and a S class. Apart from the fact that you may for some reason want a 4wd, I would rather only have the SL65 or one merc for simplicities sake. Why stick to only mercs? I sincerely hope this is a joke.

Well Vegas has a CLK (and some others?) in the same area as this guy... maybe HE can go take some pictures, provided that Mr. Trump can't secure some...

That's quite a stable if it's true though... but I agree with the earlier post... AMG-wise, I wouldn't get an E if I had an S, unless the E was for me to drive and the S was to be driven in. And by the time you get there, it's probably time to start thinking about Maybach or something...

I agree, the set is a little boring. Some good Italian cars can make it really dazling.

'04 SL55
I have a '04 SL55. I am very happy with it, but no sooner than I got it, the 65's started to appear. I saw one on the road. At first glance its visually similar to the 55. I read the performance data on the 65 and want one--congrats to you, I'm jealous.

I told my dealer that he needs to get my car (Blk/ch. gray and wood grain consol) in a 65 so I can trade the 55 for it. My wife, however, objected to that. She loves the 55 and wants it for herself. I agreed as I can't fault anyone for driving a 55--its a great car. So in the near future, I hope to find myself standing in my driveway between a Black '04 55, a Black '05 SL65 and a Black '04 Suburban (our family car). The oil and gas companies are going to love me!

Again, congrats on what appears to be a great car--world class performance and obscene luxuary. Please tell me/us of your experiences (both good and bad) with the 65 as I am interested to see what I'm getting into.

Best regards,

Lew
