Found SL55 Supercharger Squeak Fix
Replace with SL65...... No issues witht the Bi-Turbo setup!
Took delivery of the car earlier this week. All I can say is WOW!
Still working through the break in period but the car is incredible.
The Bi-Turbo sounds great on start up but is fairly quiet while running at low speeds.
The brakes are unbelievable.
The car does not feel any heavier than my SL55 but the power is addictive.

Well worth the 75K.
The car has more changes than I expected.
One that I like the most in addition to the performance is the full leather interior.
I would have spent more with Renntech or Brabus to tune a SL600.
I miss ther rumble of the V8 but the power is awesome!

Thansk for all of the compliments. It is an incredible car!
I will work on a video once I complete the break in.
In the next couple of days I should have a bunch of new pictures up.

Do you live in the US? Just wondering about your comment on the leather interior. The SL55 and Sl65 both have full leather interiors and from what it looked like, unlike the SL600 both AMG's seem to have the same leather as well (not the smooth napa).
Thanks,

I am located in Atlanta.
If the dash in my SL55 was leather it looked very synthetic. It has a vey rough texture.
The SL65 looks like the dash is one large piece of smooth leather. It may be the smooth Napa. I will look and see if I had ever taken a picture of the dash of my SL55.
As promised, I will shoot a bunch of additional pictures when I am back in town Thursday.
From the performance side, I only have 450 miles on it so far so I am still taking it easy.
The power at highway speeds is effortless. The sound is a bit quieter than the SL55. The bark when it starts is fantastic and it has a bit of a rumble but the SL55 was a much deeper growl.
The brakes are incredible, the stopping power at speed is something else. The car is still heavy but I was expecting to notice some additional weight with the V12. At this point the feel is very similar. I will know more when I get it up to the mountains in a month or so.

Wow, what a car. I am anxious to hear your comparison to the SL55. When you turn it on, does it have a much deeper sound than the SL55? Is there any turbo lag. I have notice a slight lag in the E55 power. I think it is due to the fact I am lazy around town and the transmission is use to going slow so when I step on it, the transmission takes a sec to think about what I want to really do. I was wondering if the turbos need to hit a certain rpm before coming alive? How has your gas mileage been? Curious to see how much esp comes on when you floor it after the break in period.
Awsome car.

I am hoping to hear some more on the driving experience as well. Have a SL65 on order but am still a bit unsure if the additional cost is worth it.
My only real driving experience with the V12TT is a Maybach 57 which had a definite turbo lag (but by far the least of any turbo ever driven)
Re. the sound, what I understand from Schiznick comments is that the SL55 actually has a better, deeper sound. Btw., a friend of mine has an 04 SL55 (I have an 03) and mine has a deeper, more pronouced sound as well. Seemed almost like MB had toned down the exhaust a bit.
Did anyone notice this as well?

Also, keep in mind how many miles are on your car compared to your friend's 04. I've never driven a 03, or had a chance to look at one closely, so I wouldn't know the difference.

Re. the milage, not sure what difference the milage would make. The car sounds like it did on day one (now a bit over 20k miles on it).
There is also no difference on the 04 SL55 vs. the 03 with the exception of slightly different exterior mirrors that I am not aware of, certainly not any mechanical changes hence my surprise on the sound.
