You have a very nice SL65 especially with the contrasting tinted windows and it looks to me, black chrome V12 BiTurbo emblems. Question, is that cover over the V12TT real carbon fiber as it appears? Also, I wanted to mention that the first pic of the steering wheel profile is very classy and one which I would expect to find in a Documentary/History book outlining the evolution of the Mercedes SL. Superb and unique.
I had been mistaken about the tint. The windows appear darker because of I believe the rollbar being up with the windblocker in place. Anyways, tinting those windows @20% even 35% would be really nice!

As I mentioned already, I am (two programmers are - NOT me) working on some web pages dedicated to the SL65 - with pictures, streaming vids and stories about this car - please be patient, will come up soon
The cover of the engine is real carbon. Thank you for the compliment for the picture - photography is a hobby for me since years. You're right the windows are not differently tinted - would not be allowed as well here in Europe, unfortunately.
The badges of the car are still original in Chrom - but will be replaced with some made of dark carbon, in the same size, font ..... (hopefully I will get this as planned).
Next week I will get some upgrades at AMG - and more is in planning... Keep you all informed
Nice weekend to all of you

The Best of Mercedes & AMG
Honestly - I do not know nowin which level I put the car when I took the pics. But it seems to be that you're right, it is looking quite "high" .... of course there is a button to adjust the ride level.

Anyway, awesome car. Congratulations.
Which model did you order and receive ? There is a difference in options here in Europe on the SL65 to the States, I think.
The only options here in France for the SL is the "distronic"and "panoramic -roof". I am surprised, that when you order the X11 leather, that the alcantara roof is not installed automatically ??? This is the case in Europe when you go for the X11.
I did not order the X11 leather - cause the extended soft nappa leather is standard option on my model. (but please keep in mind that there is a huge price difference for that car, between US and Europe).
Wish you a nice day - and a lot of fun with your car

I do have the alcantara roof, but not the binnacle (gauges like speedometer, tachometer, etc). Here in the US, all those things I mentioned are options. X11 does give me nicer leather on the seats also besides leather dash and door. I do not regret getting the option. It makes the interior much more luxurious.
At 3.2bar (46psi), this is significantly more than those recommended by Carlsson for their 19” wheels combined with Dunlop SP Sport 9090 tyres, i.e. 2.3 bar front (33psi) and 2.5 bar (36psi) rear
I’m also surprised that these AMG recommended pressures only cover speeds up to 300 km/hr (186 mph), while the Carlsson recommendations cover speeds up to 330 km/hr (205 mph)
I realize that the SL65 is about 200kg heavier than the SL55 and that the RE050A tyres are Run Flats, but this seems like a very big difference, especially as a higher tyre pressure will invariably lead to a less forgiving ride.
Two questions
- Did AMG give you any guidance as to what (lower) tyre pressures would be acceptable for speeds up to say 250 km/hr (155mph)
- Is your car now limited to 300 km/hr, as I thought that the use of the Bridgestone RE050A tyres allows speeds up to 330 km/hr

1) There is no recomended tyre pressure for lower speeds from AMG.
2) My car is limited to 300 km/h now (already too fast for me
)If you take your car to AMG for delimitation - only up to 300 km/h is possilbe for SL modells. (but as well you keep the warranty).
